3. Troy Aikman - Good but how good? Had an awesome team around him.

Oh brother...

So if this is the case with Aikman then you have to say the same with Montana. I mean how good would he have been without Rice, Taylor, Craig, Jones, Lott etc. around him?

Same for Bart Starr or any other successful quarterback that was blessed with a good team around him.

Peyton Manning-I think one of the most accurate QB's in history, but he is just an average QB when he gets any kind of pressure. Plus it don't hurt to have Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Brandon Stokley, and Dallas Clark.

Seems like I have been hearing the same crap about our own Troy Aiman for years and years.

The difference is Troy won three Superbowls while Manning continues to choke. Last year the Colts should have been in the superbowl, but Manning and the coaching staff let them down. When it became obvious that Pitsburgh was going to blitz, the deep routes should have been audibled into slants and comebacks.

Overrated (off the top of my head)

Dale Carter - raved for years and constantly blew coverage left and right, yet teams would always sign him, get burned, then talk about how bad he stunk.

Charles Woodson - coverage wise he's like Champ Bailey, can be dominant, but still takes too many chances and gets burned (more than Bailey). He also can't tackle to save his life.

Joe Namath - Not that he was bad, but there were QB in his era that had far better QB ratings and played more years that get 1/10th the recognition he got.

Ray Guy - see Dr. Z's criticisms of Guy. He was actually a very average punter back in his time and would probably be below average today.

Tom Tupa - Lost his leg strength awhile ago and started hitting solely line drives. Did a decent job of angling the punts, but he wasn't a top 15 punter although most people would tell you he was a top 5 punter.

Matt Schaub - had one good game against a severely banged up New England team. Career completion is barely over 50% and if he was a starter, he'd probably have the weakest arm of any starter in the league.

Rex Grossman - Not a good decision maker, decent arm, and can't stay healthy. But in Chicago, he's supposedly some potentially great QB if he stays healthy. Sorry, I don't see it.

Eli Manning - His completion % was poor last year because he's not accurate and makes bad decisions. Throws off his backfoot a lot, loves to backpedal when facing pressure, and has a wounded duck thing going on with his throws.

Troy Polamalu - Yeah, he's great...but he's a liability in coverage (he gave up 3 TD's alone in the playoffs) and I don't see how he won the defensive MVP award.

Osi Umenyiora - Good, but one dimensional and is helped greatly by having one of the best DE's in our lifetime playing opposite of him. Last year when Pierce went out with injury, teams just ran at Umenyiora all day long with great success and he couldn't rush the passer anymore.

Larry Allen - One of the all time greats, but his last 4 years was a bit ridiculous as some still thought he was the best guard in the game. At times he was, but not through a consistent season.

I can see his point.

There are Skins fans that think he's as good or nearly as good as Tiki Barber. Since 2002, Barber's stats are far better than Portis'. In the last two seasons Barber's stats smoke Portis'.

I think Portis is a good back, but I wouldn't put him in Barber's league right now.

Portis is a very good back- top 10 in the NFL. Barber right now is top 5.
