Most overrated players

If where talking New York Giants I would put Nate Solder as 5x more over-rated than Barkley.

Giants made him the highest paid offensive lineman in the league and he had 2 medicore season (once of which he allowed a near league high 11 sacks) and then he choose to not even play last year. Now he's coming back in his 4th year and might be a back-up behind Thomas and Peart.......

I'm worried about that team.

They are building a nice roster.

I don't think Jones is any good, and it's not as if his OC is going to be able to help that.....otherwise I'd be very concerned.

They are overall better than WFT IMO.

That's your opinion and you're welcome to it!
If you read the article you'd realize they aren't picking on just those two.
They are analyzing the NFC East choosing players on offense and defense they feel are overrated/overvalued.

Guess I need a disclaimer on every post: "The opinions expressed herein are not necessarily those of the idiot who posted. He was only foolish enough to believe the article might be of interest to other Cowboy fans. Please don't froth (too much) if the opinion does not meet your criteria. Thanks, the OP"
i didnt read the article, went back when i realized this wasn't your initial original thought and now its even worse some of those picks are straight stupid..curtis samual that all they can come up with then in the SB section they states barkely is the best rb in the NFCE..

seriously how so?

zekes better overall RB , his production over 5 seasons alone missing one game and at least being relative makes him better, better athlete no better quads no but has the hardware and stats to say hes better..

you cant miss 16 games in 3 years and still his best season as rook was not even better then zeke as rookie..

SB IMO is into the best RB ill still take zeke, zeke was better in college and SO FAR better as pro....

so IMO the article is horrible as the writer had opinions i dont agree as with but to what end was IT WTRIITEN FOR?

The National Football League does a terrible job of hiding it. If the league has a favorite division, it is undeniably the NFC East. As the most visible division in the league, the NFC East gets a lot of eyes on it on a weekly basis. One of the unfortunate ripple effects from this is that players within it can sometimes be overrated since they are seen by so many.

For the Cowboys:

Dallas Cowboys: Ezekiel Elliott
This choice was not made to incite the running backs actually do matter crowd, it was just an acknowledgment of where we are in our current moment. Zeke is often mentioned among the truly elite running backs in the game right now and the reality is that he simply isn’t there anymore.

There is no doubt that paying a running back what the Cowboys did Elliott is not the wisest of investments and that is a reality that they have to live with. Part of the “overrated-ness” is the attention that big-time contracts bring and there is no lack of attention when it comes to Elliott’s game.

Oh yeah.....Barkley....

New York Giants: Saquon Barkley
In talking about Ezekiel Elliott, we mentioned contracts as part of what goes into making a player overrated, well so does draft stock.

While Saquon Barkley hasn’t exactly had a fair shake of an opportunity to prove himself in the NFL he has hardly justified the New York Giants spending the second overall pick on him in 2018. The pressure is really on him in 2021 to deliver and carry his team to legitimate success, but as a running back even if he puts forth a Herculean effort it might not necessarily be enough.

There is no denying that Barkley is the best running back in the NFC East, but overall he is certainly someone who is hyped up just a little bit too much.

So hilarious how Zeke is now at the top of NFL lists as being overrated. I remember arguing with Zeke lovers 2 or 3 years ago about how overrated he was and them crying like insulted mothers.

Yeah. East Coast bias is real. But Jerry does sell the most tshirts, no dispute there.

Swap Dallas and Charlotte, make the divisions more regionally correct and the NFC East is still the most prominent.
Not even close.

0-4 record in nfc title game...post super bowl win.
for the "best or 2nd best QB on the planet".
he is an over-rated cry baby.
We are talking about the player, not the team. They don't sniff the level of success without a QB of his caliber. Whatever you think of him as a person is one thing but his play is special. 3 MVP's? Hard to overrate those credentials.

Every position is important. You want the best players you can get. Ez E certainly needs to prove 2020 turnovers were a fluke. If he has another bad season then wholesale criticism would be justified. Until then, saying he is overrated is overstating.

Zeke turned his fumbling around last year.
Only 1 fumble in his last 8 games, 0 in his last 4. It was really only a problem in the first half of the season.

Still, I'd say he was overrated. Some would still talk about him as if he were elite, but on metric after metric he wasn't just not elite, he was bad.

Mayfield and Chubb need to join forces and go to Cabo like Elliott and holdout. Browns would have to cave. $40M/year extension for Mayfield and $12M/year extension for Chubb. Let the good times roll. Make it happen so I can sit back and laugh at the stupidity of NFL owners. Swimming in money with all these tv deals and Amazon.
Is this like an oxymoron?

I would take Barkley over Zeke. Barkley plays behind a very poor oline. While Zeke has Martin, Collins and T. Smith blocking for him.

Respect your opinion but……there’s always a but.. can you name the last RB that got paid top RB money on his second contract and was worth it.
Sure, not a problem.

McCaffrey
Kamara
Dalvin Cook
Derrick Henry
AAron Jones
Mixon

Zeke needs to turn it around this season

Many of the Giants are overhyped just because of the market they are in.

no way, Barkley has a lot of runs for no gains and losses. Zeke rarely gets tackled for a loss.

Barkley has the speed once he gets open for more long gains. But how often does that really happen. Not as much as fans think it does. Give me the consistency of 4 to 6 hard gains. Then a few longer runs here and there. Long runs can be over 10 yards to 20 yards. With a few 20 yards or more.
Zeke is a power back. Look at his 20+ yard plays. The decline is obvious.
