Are you implying that I'm old? I'll have you know that I'm still very lively and ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I actually started to use the word "old", then realized i would have to apply the same term to myself and decided against it.

There are two kinds of people in the world, my friend. Those who have a rope around their neck and those who have the job of doing the cutting.

Good quotes, and most recognizable quotes aren't necessarily the same thing. Many listed here are very good quotes, and most are very recognizeable, but when people today can still quote a line from Gone with the Wind and Casablanca, they have to be the top of the list. Taxi Driver and Dirty Harry have stood a pretty good test of time too.

As for more great quotes (not necessarily most recognizeable), Eastwood is full of them. I don't think anyone has mentioned "Dying ain't much of a living boy" from The Outlaw Josie Wales.

If Arch Stanton comes around he could probably help with some Eastwood quotes.

WHO HERE KNOWS WHERE THE NAME "ARCH STANTON" COMES FROM?

There's no name here, either. See, that's what Bill Carson told me. It was the grave marked "Unknown", right beside Arch Stanton.

I found the actual wording - a little different than i remembered:

I want you to remember that no bastd ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor, dumb bastd die for his country.

Stautner, GB&U is my favorite film. Clint is also my favorite director. I love Mystic River. Great film IMO.

Judging from your name I assumed you were a big Eastwood fan. I've never seen Mystic River - will have to check it out. My favorite Eastwood movies are still the old westerns.

"Who owns this **** hole?" - Unforgiven.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee." - Pulp Fiction

"I am the Architect. I created the Matrix. I've been waiting for you. You have many questions, and although the process has altered your consciousness, you remain irrevocably human. Ergo, some of my answers you will understand, and some of them you will not. Concordantly, while your first question may be the most pertinent, you may or may not realize it is also the most irrelevant." - Matrix Reloaded

One of the best movies that Clint has made. Love it.

Recently, I'd say the most recognizeable is, "Why so serious?"

Excellent choice. I have been considering which video quote to post from The Dark Knight.
