The '85 Bears played that season without two top defensive starters.. Linebacker Al Harris and safety Todd Bell. Everyone has to step up.

Not to turn this terrible ordeal into a Dak thread, but it has to be stated.

All of Dak's inaccurate throws in the off-season led to Diggs over working his knees, jumping, lunging, running after the play was over because he went for the interception.

This is what happens when you have an inaccurate QB. It leads to injuries to other players not even related to offense.

Our old long snapper has suffered multiple shoulder strains due to having to snap way more than he is used to. Forced him to retire. Ask ledueceur.

Anyways, just another reason to look at a change at QB.
You make an outstanding point.

Well, he almost gave up 2 TDs last week, so this is a good thing right?

So, I tried, I really tried, to be positive about this, but it still came out negative.

Adversity hits all good teams. The great teams overcome it. There is no easy path or schedule that leads to a championship. We will see if the Cowboys are able to overcome this adversity.
Yep. You KNOW a key player is going to go down & out early, as such happens EVERY year. You just hold your breath & wait for it. Extra-bitter that the injury occurred during practice. Which seems to happen a lot in Dallas. You'd love to see teams play an entire season at full-strength, but that never happens in the NFL. It's a war, and guys will necessarily get picked-off by injuries all season. Diggs won't be the last.

You lose his big play ability. So that stings. Otherwise, yawn. Cornerback. Don't care.
Defensive lines make cornerbacks look better than they are… that much is true. But they still matter.

Famous last words when the season ends because a backup CB cannot make the play Diggs could.

Pass rush is not everything; even the Bears great pass rush came up a cropper vs Marino and Miami.

Unless you have someone that is close to Diggs this is a serious blow to the D and anyone claiming otherwise is a football moron.

Next man up is circus carny talk.

The Cowboys could not fill the CB 2 spot last year because they lost BOTH Lewis and Brown.

Now they have Gilmore, Bland, and Lewis as the top three and can use Mukuamu in the slot too if needed.

Losing Diggs is a MAJOR blow, but the Cowboys are not in the same precarious spot they were in late last season.

Why? That’s what’s gonna happen. Injuries are apart of the game and it just makes pressuring the QB that much more important. We’re gonna lose some play making ability, but we do have depth and talent behind him.
