He was a mercenary, not a Cowboy. He may also be the reason so many players are attention seekers, and all about themselves. No prime time?

Emmitt Smith
Tony Dorsett
Hershel Walker
Ezekiel Elliott
It is Mt. Rushmore after all
if you never grew up watching any of these players, would you be a cowboys fan?I thought this would be interesting. Top 4 Cowboys of all time. Probably changes depending on when you grew up. I'm an old guy so some players from earlier are included
-Roger Staubach
-Bob Lilly
-Randy White
-Emmitt Smith
So many worthy players. What say you?
The funny thing is the "waterboy" will make more money than all 4 elite Cowboys combined by the end of his career.. Hopefully he'll have a star shaped super bowl ring on his finger as he's counting his money.Lilly
Staubach
Aikman
Smith
Ware
Dak Prescott...as the waterboy for the above Elite Cowboys!!!
Paying admittance to see it.No Cowboys Mt. Rushmore is complete without Dak.
Yep, somebody has to work the ticket counter. No Cowboys Mt. Rushmore is complete without Dak.
Well he helped this team win a SB so there's that.He was a mercenary, not a Cowboy. He may also be the reason so many players are attention seekers, and all about themselves.
My 4 as well.Every so often this thread pops it’s head up
Lilly
Landry
Smith
Roger
there are also names you could put up here that contributed to the rich history we’ve had
Lilly is the best option for the 4th spot IMHO.Landry, Staubach, and Emmitt are not debatable.
That other spot could be Lilly, Pearson, Dorsett, Aikman, Irvin, R White, Jimmy, Schramm, Witten, or even Brandt.
Just keep Jerry the hell off of there. Biggest embarrassment in franchise history.
Yeah, after Jerry made him the richest player in the league. He doesn't even consider himself a Cowboy, why should we?Well he helped this team win a SB so there's that.
Good Point !Yeah, after Jerry made him the richest player in the league. He doesn't even consider himself a Cowboy, why should we?
Williams was feared, but I don't think he was as feared as Allen. I remember specifically hearing interviews from John Randle, Jason Tuck and Michael Strahan testifying to their fear of Allen. One correction: Erik Williams was the most feared by opponents...Charles Haley was the most feared by his own teammates.
Allen was a great player, but Williams was an angry player. Did they say they feared Allen, or they hated going up against him?Williams was feared, but I don't think he was as feared as Allen. Maybe I missed them, but I don't recall any interviews of players saying they feared Big E.
Strahan said guys would fake illness if they had to go against Allen.Allen was a great player, but Williams was an angry player. Did they say they feared Allen, or they hated going up against him?
Imagine a player so feared that you actually had to turn to a bear to find an opponent that would make him an underdog — mostly because bears won’t play within the NFL rulebook.
That is probably the best way to describe Larry Allen to those who need a description.
