The Dallas Cowboys is a franchise that has been blessed with many SPECTACULARLY GREAT PLAYERS throughout its storied history.. It's impossible to pick only 4 players without disrespecting many more who are deserving, so I suggest for the sake of this topic, let's use the world's biggest mountain = [Everest]. Rushmore is too damn small for this team..

The funny thing is the "waterboy" will make more money than all 4 elite Cowboys combined by the end of his career.. Hopefully he'll have a star shaped super bowl ring on his finger as he's counting his money.

That other spot could be Lilly, Pearson, Dorsett, Aikman, Irvin, R White, Jimmy, Schramm, Witten, or even Brandt.

One correction: Erik Williams was the most feared by opponents...Charles Haley was the most feared by his own teammates.

Williams was feared, but I don't think he was as feared as Allen. I remember specifically hearing interviews from John Randle, Jason Tuck and Michael Strahan testifying to their fear of Allen.
Maybe I missed them, but I don't recall any interviews of players saying they feared Big E.

Allen was a great player, but Williams was an angry player. Did they say they feared Allen, or they hated going up against him?

So many great players over the years. Hard to narrow it down to 4. I like the idea of calling it Mt. Landry instead of Rushmore and going with Staubach, Lilly, Randy White and Emmitt.

Strahan said guys would fake illness if they had to go against Allen.
Justin Tuck said Larry Allen was unbeatable.
John Randle said he always talked nice to Allen because he didn't want to make him angry.
I don't know the difference between not wanting to go up against and fearing someone.
Few, if any, guys are going to admit they fear another player. But they can talk like they do if you read between the lines.

P.S. you can Youtube both Justin Tuck and Randle's comments about Larry Allen. I remember Strahan saying what he did but could never find the interview.

Imagine a player so feared that you actually had to turn to a bear to find an opponent that would make him an underdog — mostly because bears won’t play within the NFL rulebook.

That is probably the best way to describe Larry Allen to those who need a description.
