Seattle's rushing defense is number one in the league, holding opponents to less than 63 rushing yards per game. During their first four games, the Seahawks have held Eddie Lacy (34 yards on 12 carries), Ryan Mathews (31 yards on 11 carries), Montee Ball (38 yards on 14 carries) and Alfred Morris (29 yards on 13 carries) to 2.8 yards a carry or less. Can DeMarco Murray break the century mark in rushing yards versus Seattle and become the NFL's first running back in history to rush for more than 100 yards in the first six games of a season--surpassing Jim Brown and O.J. Simpson?

I think this game maybe is where the passing game sets up the running game. Maybe some early play action if they are keying on Murray and loosen them up a bit. Also I will take our offensive line over any of those other teams in a heartbeat.

He actually matches Jim Brown if he rushes for 100 yards against Seattle. I have no doubt that Murray can put up a century mark, IF Cowboys commit to the run game, even if not as successful in the beginning. One of the things Seattle does so well is that they intimidate opposing teams into becoming 1 dimensional by shutting down one aspect of offense early, usually the run.

Cowboys have to stay committed and more importantly balanced, or Romo may not make it out alive. Our OL is not elite when it comes to pass protection. Not even close to how good they are run blocking.

Well the Cowboys have a better Oline than those teams IMHO so I think he has a legitimate shot.

Gonna be tough though.

To this fan, these players have their own big boy pants to put on for this game. Keep the run for real, Cowboys!

I think this is the week that Demarco finally gets shut down (under 100 yards).

Seattle has the best front 7 in the NFL, almost impossible to run on them.

I dont think he will be able to grind out 100 yards like last week, if he gets there it will be because he breaks off a long run in my opinion.

Here are the next 11 defenses Murray will face, along with the number of 100-yard rushers each team has allowed since the start of the 2013 season:

@Sea 4
NYG 2
Was 4
Ari 1
vs Jac (Lon) 2
@NYG 2
Phi 2
@Chi 11
@Phi 2
Ind 5
@Was 4

It's worth noting that the Titans and 49ers combined only allowed a 100-yard rusher 3 times in their other 40 games since the start of 2013.

We are going to see how good this o-line really is. We are also going to see how good Murray really is.

If he wants $6-$8 million a season then he needs to show me that he can both handle the workload of 30 carries a game, keep from getting injured, and make yards when the blocking breaks down. That is what RBs like Peterson have done so if he wants to be paid like that then perform like that.

As noted, Seattle run defense is stout. As noted, our front line is a nutbuster. Should be interesting. I don't really care if he makes 100, we just need to make sure that when we NEED run yardage, we get it. Convert 3rd and 2, 3rd and 1, and I don't care if Murray ends with 75 yards on 20 carries. Oh, and I voted under 100... I think they plan to use more backs for more carries this week anyways.

Looking at what those other starting RBs have done against them this season scares me... nobody over 34 yards?? I think he barely gets it but he could easily end up with only 50 or so yards

He'll need a couple of big runs to make 100 yds possible. Not sure we can count on the steady 4-6 yd gains all game that we've seen for the most part all season. I'm anxious to see how the running game fares against this defense.

For all the non-believers, and you know who you are, do not be swayed by numbers. Do you believe that this is the best run blocking OL in the league or not???

Murray leads the league in runs over 20 yards.

Right now I think you can argue that none of the teams they have played have been very good running the ball so far. Washington I'd expect to get better, but I wouldn't want to bet on it unless RG3 comes back and is healthy.

49ers rank 3rd in rushing defense (ypg). Murray dropped 118 on them. Our OL has gelled even more since then. Murray surpasses 100 against Seattle too.
