Murray is freelancing

Listening to Nate Newton this morning and one point he made was Kenneth Murray may need to be taken off the field. He was frequently out of position and not following assignments. Nate pointed out Murray plays like hes alone, and knocked Sanborn off of his spots several times.

The other player Nate singled out was Fowler. He said Fowler also played undisciplined and it allowed Hurts a lot of his running lanes.

Micha is gone. There are no more super star heros on this defense. We cant afford to have guys doing their own thing. Micha could pull it off because his talent is off the charts and he'd often make a game changing play. These two guys aren't even close.

I hope our coaches take notice and we see a lot more from guys like Liaufa and Houston. Id also like to see Shemar James active. He needs time but from what I saw in preseason is the type of player who's always around the ball.

If the idea of trading Parsons was to build a cohesive defensive unit, then every player who freelances should be disciplined or taken off the field. Fowler was just awful There were at least 3 plays in the first half where he took himself out of the play and left a huge gap in the defense. I think Houston looked pretty good and even made a tackle for a loss because he stayed home and did his job. I think Kneeland Houston and Sam Williams will be the best combination of DEs the Cowboys have

Ezeiruaku looks overmatched. He looked like a kid going up against Mialata.

Yes agree on all accounts. I did see Eze get held pretty badly without a call, but he does look like hes gonna need more time to match the physicality of the pro game. Hopefully he'll come on as the season progresses.

For now it's Kneeland, Sam Williams and Houston. Every damn time Houston is in the game I see him making a play.

This is exactly what I said about a week ago. The defense HAS to play their assignment. They can;t rely on Big Play Micah anymore..just drift around.

Ezeiruaku is listed at 6'2", 248 lbs. People talked about Micah being to small for the position but he looks bigger than Ezeiruaku. Going up against tackles that are 6'6" or taller and over 300 lbs is asking a lot of the rookie.
 
Yes Murray is a train wreck, has been since he has been in the league. He needs to be sitting next to Mazi.
 
I am giving them a pass .....for now—new scheme, new coaching staff, new plays and new teammates. Coaches should have it cleaned up by game 4. I have heard and/or read many times from coaches that it takes about 3 games to clear out kinks and know what kind of team you have.

1st.....what works and what doesn't
2nd ...adjustments of what work and what doesn't with players and plays
3rd.....Coaches and players adjust to kinks

Belichick and Landry.......you have a pretty good read about your team by the 4th game
 
The only lb that MIGHT have a future in the league on this team is liafau. And even that's iffy.

Meanwhile jihad Campbell was the 1st graded linebacker in the game. The guy cz told me had no instincts. Lb needs an upgrade immediately

Kendrick was a tackling machine last season ......probably our best defensive player after Parsons.

For some odd reason, Eberflus wants no part of him, and I am 100% confident it's his call. We paid Kendrick $3M last season, so its certain not financial.

His stats....he had a hell of a year

He was my No.1 draft target and yes, over Booker. I am still surprised we didn't pull the trigger in the top 3 rounds on one.

I'm starting not to like Eberflus' decisions. It showed this past Thursday night just like it did when he was previously in Dallas. Coach Schotty needs to reign him in or else I'm afraid Eberflus' costly decisions are going to continue.

I mean in hindsight it was best they didn’t. What we thought was a luxury in Ezeraiku and Revel….is gonna be proven to be necessary.

Eberflus D gave us a chance to win. Offense is what cost us with those drops and fumbles. They dominated in the second half.
