Murray wasn't shown the door, he left. We could not afford him, not at the price he wanted. He got his money, but in the long run it will cost him. At the rate things are going, I expect Phillie to give him two years and if he hasn't broke a thousand yards for either year, Hasta La Vista baby! He will find himself one of those guys that gets invited to camps o see if he can still play. Had he taken less money and stayed in Big D, we would be chipping away at his HOF bust.

Poor decision on his part.

Eh, I think the Philly ownership will cut Kelly free before Murray. It's plain as day that Kelly's magic is over. Chip probably won't make it through this season.

Murray was disrespected. After the year he had 4/16m was the biggest non-vite I have ever seen. Even after PHI came in strong DAL offered him less. It would've been better to just tell him "not interested" from the start.

I would never beg DAL to sign me. He had to move on, he could not have given more last year.

The amount of disrespect he gets around here(before the actual games started) is mind blowing to me.

He still resides in Texas according to interviews they played yesterday. I'm sure a good financial planner\ advisor makes sure it's worth it.
So now he has to have and extra residence and pay city/state tax?

Years ago I would have said just go with the money, but I've worked at a job that paid really really well but that I hated. I could definite see taking less to be in a better situation.

Dude what is your man crush on Murray? Yes, he's a top 12 running back in this league with a lot of miles. Obviously he is not a one man game changer as we've seen in Philly. He has limited skills and is basically a downhill one cut runner.

8 million was too much to pay for him. Everyone understands that but you. We offered him 6 a year.

Agenda.

It's probably not a good time for your agenda on Murray considering that the Cowboys held him to a 0.2 ypc and his season average is 0.5 ypc.

At least wait until he can break the 1.0 ypc barrier before extolling his "greatness".

is at his " Eddie George " stage in his career. Murray's prime ended Week 12 of last year and the decline looks to be very steep and very fast.

I wouldn't be surprised if Matthew's winds up the starter sometime this season and Murray and plays 2 years of his contract.

LOL, only thing in decline is Philly OL. No one is doing much in terms of running. Defense have been shooting the gap on the pulling guards and nailing RB behind the line of scrimmage. This has nothing to do with Murray in decline or Ryan Mathews in decline

Murray isn't on the decline Philly's offense is all screwed up and he doesn't fit what they're doing. Bradford hasn't looked good neither look comfortable and seem to fit what Philly is trying to do. Philly runs a zone scheme and if the defense is able to penetrate there's no room to run the Cowboys defense was in the backfield with Murray. The Cowboys ran a power scheme which fit Murray's running style. It's the scheme and how he's being used that's literally got him going backwards.

NFL network was breaking down the Eagles offense as have Dallas and Alt. The system that Kelly is running is something defense have figured out how to attack. They went on to say the formation give the plays away and defense will continue to attack it.

It's obvious defenses have a read on what they're doing plays are being blown up and Murray has nowhere to run. Their receiving corp isn't anything like it was with Djack and Mcclin. Everyone questioned whether Kelly's offense would work in the NFL and it showed some potential his first 2 seasons but these personnel moves have his offense going backwards. Bradford has had 5 turnovers in the first 2 games and looks skittish. Their running game which is the foundation of that offense isn't working due to their OL struggles. Their lack of a running game is allowing opposing defenses to drop back into coverage and prevent Philly from throwing the ball deep. The lack of blocking up front is causing the first contact on Murray to be in the backfield. With the Cowboys it was figured that first contact on Murray didn't occur until 2.8 yards past the line of scrimmage. It's not Murray it's the blocking up front that's causing a lot of Philly's issues.

They do? They did run the ball quite a bit, but not more than any team in the NFL. They ranked 4th in rushing attempts in 2013 and 7th in 2014. After two games this season they are near the bottom in rushing attempts. Overall since Chip has joined the NFL the Eagles rank 8th in rushing attempts.

Well, 4th and 7th is pretty high to me. And Chip has come out saying how much he wants to run the ball. Obviously being behind and is 9 million dollar back getting all of 2 yards in two games has probably hurt that ability to run. :muttley:

Yep and Kelly was this guru of offense. Should this continue Kelly will be lucky to survive in Philly given the fact he has complete control over personnel.

That was a pretty impressive hurdle for a guy in decline.

Then maybe he should start hurdling for a living ....... because as a running back this is what he is doing.

Week number 1 - 8 carries for 9 yards
Week number 2 - 13 carries for 2 yards

If what we're seeing continues the rest of the season I think he'll be given the axe. If Philly isn't coming around as the season goes on they'll have to make a change.

I don't think you know what that word means. You are trying to insult me with it but I admit I want the Cowboys to get better at RB.

Lurie will be under a lot of pressure if the Eagles finish under .500 this season. Losing to Dallas at home every year has to be stomping on his last nerve. I'll bet Kelly gets another year if he can go at least 9-7 because giving up after 3 years means you just wasted those 3 years for nothing.

Kelly will get another year if Philly goes 9-7 that should keep them in the playoff race most of the season but if things keep going the way they are and they end up with a losing record Kelly's head will roll. They would have to pull the trigger on him and his offense if this season continues as it is. They couldn't risk another season with him and an offense that many questioned when he took over if they don't make much progress the rest of the season. With all the personnel moves Kelly's made he has to make it work or he's done. Another system could work with his players but he's not changing his system it's all he knows he'll either live or die with it. I'll tell you one thing he better get out of town quick if Foles ends up leading the Rams to a better record than Bradford does with the Eagles.
