Murray is in decline

Murray could be in decline, or he could be in wrong system. Murray looked just fine just like he did last year as a receiver out of backfield. Murray is just not a east-west runner, he is straight up the gut between the tackles runner. Murray also needs a ton of touches to beat on defenses, he gets better as the game goes on, like the RBs of old. But if Murray is in decline, then EVERY single RB on the Eagles is in decline. No one had any luck running behind that line and/or trying to stretch runs to the outside against fast defenses like the Cowboys.

While I agree the offensive line was a big part of Murray's success let's not forget he was pretty good in 2013. Offensive line was solid, but not nearly as good as it is now. Cowboys just didn't give him the ball enough. I don't think Murray is an elite talent, but he is a good back. A very good back.

I would say he is a good all around back. However, not worth the contract he got.

It's a team game. This offensive line is largely part of Murray's success, but it's not like Murray was a bum running behind this line either.

I'm still giving our committee an "incomplete" grade for now. We did rush for 100+ as a team yesterday, though. I don't particularly care where the yards come from as long as we're able to run a balanced, effective offense each game.

This group is showing what they do well, which is catch the ball out of the backfield and make plays in space. However, this run game is nothing like it was last year after two games. And short yardage and goal line has been a problem thus far. Running over someone for a first down or TD says much more than passing for it in my opinion. It makes a statement.

I would realistically consider a trade for Arian Foster if he's healthy by the deadline.

I think he's worth it after the season he had, IF the team signing him had a similar zone blocking scheme we had and a decent qb. Somewhere like Denver maybe if they still do zone blocking? But not the freaking fast paced Eagles

I like this but right now we gotta get guys blocked and be less predictable offensively.

Teams are zeroing in on the run and know exactly where it's going.

It seems like every time we run a playfake the entire defense bites on it because they are so hunkered down on the run.

Teams are going to do that after last year. Which is why the checkdown passes and release valves have been so wide open.

The offensive line is still blocking. Randle and McFadden just aren't that good. The Eagles, though, to their credit, have been very good against the run the last two seasons. I'm not writing off our rushing attack just yet, but our feature back of the future is not on this roster.

You don't pay guys for what they did.. You pay them for what they can do moving forward.

Murrays season last year was not his norm and just because he had a 8 million dollar season doesn't mean he is an 8 million dollar player.

With Romo now out, they will do it on every play (not just first and second downs) and dare Weeden to beat them.

Well I disagree.. I've seen almost no space when these guys have the ball.

I haven't seen the end to end angles of this game yet but Randle didn't miss much in that Giants game.

I know yesterday Randle got us out of a few bad plays when he was met in the backfield and at the LOS. That's a sign of a good back.

Have you watched the games? That's exactly what they're doing. Jelly is clueless when it comes to utilizing his players and playing to their strengths.

I'm saying it's not 'them', Murray chose to be there and chose to be in a place that doesn't fit him.

As did Philly yesterday and they got burnt by T. Will.

Just the threat of our run game may be enough to get Weeden some good looks throughout the game.

I've listened to Eagle players all morning on the radio that their gameplan was to stop the run.

Dallas still accomplished what they wanted though and controlled TIME OF POSSESSION.

Well that is your opinion. What good is a back you need to design and special scheme for? He is either good or he isnt. Not worth top dollar in my opinion. Just draft a young guy to run behind our line.

The Giants were able to stack the box because our WRs couldn't catch a cold.

McFadden gets tackled by his shoestrings too much for my liking. Horrible balance, but he's good for change of pace for his home run chance.

I love Randle in space, though. I think he's much better there. McFadden too. They're just not really between the tackles runners, necessarily. But again - I'm not going to pre-judge 14 more games of work based on one game against a strong Eagles front.

This is the realest thing you've ever said.

Dallas won because of defense.

No doubt that defense was the main thing but we kept them off the field as well.

Time of Possession is a big deal for the Cowboys and will be even bigger going forward with Weeden.
