That's okay. We've Williams, Beasley, Witten and most importantly the best rushing team in the NFL. Go ahead and sit in pass coverage worrying about Dez. We'll happily move you from 17 against the run, down to the 20's.

It's the opposite. They will be taking away all other options and stacking the box trusting Davis to go one on one against Dez. In all honesty he has the ability to limit Dez.

I can think of two corners that legitimately shut Dez down. Peterson each time they played. And Revis when we played the Jets. Actually he embarrassed Dez badly. But he's a better player now. Sherman did ok....

Besides that everyone else has been toast 1 vs 1 against Dez.

Embarassed Dez badly? He had several key catches on him down the field. You must not remember the game besides the Int to seal it

My answer to the hand wringing about Vontae Davis is this.

Peterson shadows the opposing teams best wr. This guy doesn't do that so Dez might now even line up on his side.

There's some corners that match up well with Dez like Peterson and others like Revis that flat out are great against anyone. I expect a good showing from Dez.

I disagree with the notion that Peterson shut down Dez or that Peterson is a great cb. In the game against Dez, it was more Weeden's feebleness than anything that Peterson did. Every time I watch peterson, he is getting roasted. Definition of overated.

IF Weeden was even remotely accurate....it would have been similar to Dez's last two catches where weeden actually made a couple of decent throws. Of course, Dez made the TD look easy over peterson...

Man.. I love Dez he's probably my favorite player. But Dez scored on Cromartie and had a nice 1st down on Revis in the first half. But Revis won the battle for the most part. He had Dez trying to punch him.. you don't remember ? Check it out again Dez was very frustrated that game. Like I said Dez is a better player now.

Colt's defense are bad covering TEs and their run defense is bad. Witten will have another big game and I'm hoping we get to see more from Escobar and Hanna in the passing game.

I guess most DBs are going to look good when they are facing the likes of Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tom Savage, Blake Bortles, Chad Henne, Jake Locker, Zach Mettenberger, etc 6 times a year.

If they single up Davis on Dez, he's going to make some catches. He plays the ball too well IMO, for Davis to shut him down... even if he has him covered.

The key will be if Romo is on. If he is, then he and Dez can beat any single coverage a few times.

That is the question though... will Indy simply man up with Davis and try to stop the run game from chewing them up or will they play a safety over Dez and make the Cowboys drive down the field.

It actually isn't a very good matchup overall for the Colts defense vs the Dallas offense.

Unfortunately, Luck and his WR's aren't really a good matchup for the Dallas D.

I thought that DeAngelo did a good job against Dez also. I think that Sherman did a good job overall limiting Dez.

It's never a good matchup for our defense when you have a good QB. But that Scandrick/Hilton matchup I think would be really fun to see, if it happens. Scandrick does really well against smaller, quicker WRs---like he used to do against CAR's Steve Smith. And Hilton is just a little pocket-beast. At least Indy doesn't have a great OL, and they can't really run. So they go into the game one dimensional with that really good one dimension. If it weren't for their TE game, I'd actually like our matchup with them pretty well across the board. Defensively, we should be able to move the ball and put up some points. This one will come down to takeaways in the passing game. If we get them, we'll win. If we don't, this is a game that's gonna come down to the last possession, one way or another.

There are players who line up and put good games on Dez. Especially if we don't get him going early. I don't think there's one of them in Indy, though.

First off Peterson is garbage. Second, Dez had a very good game against him first time. Second time he had no qb. Revis game he got hurt.

Peterson leads the LEAGUE in tds allowed and penalties. if you think Romo wouldn't have exposed that loudmouth frontrunner you're crazy. If you watch their 2011 matchup he claimed Dez only ran three routes and he still gave up almost 100 and a td. New age d hall.

It'll be the reverse of what we saw last week with the Eagles selling out to stop Demarco. Theres' no need to force it to Dez if we don't have to.

Exactly. It's a team game, we have multiple ways to win. No reason to go one dimensional.
