Twitter: Must-see TV: Dez Bryant vs Vontae Davis

Davis is arguably the most physically talented CB Dez will face all season, including PP. This will definitely be a stiff test for Dez.

Can't wait to see this matchup. The question is how much single coverage is Dez going to get.

That's okay. We've Williams, Beasley, Witten and most importantly the best rushing team in the NFL. Go ahead and sit in pass coverage worrying about Dez. We'll happily move you from 17 against the run, down to the 20's.

Peterson shadows the opposing teams best wr. This guy doesn't do that so Dez might now even line up on his side.

There's some corners that match up well with Dez like Peterson and others like Revis that flat out are great against anyone. I expect a good showing from Dez.

It'll be the reverse of what we saw last week with the Eagles selling out to stop Demarco. Theres' no need to force it to Dez if we don't have to.

I never thought Vontae was all that. I don't think Dez gets shut down. Sherman tried earlier this year, and that didn't work out too well. Vontae is no Sherman either.

He struggled some earlier in his career but he's always had the athletic ability. It will be a good matchup of 2 great athletes.

The Indianapolis Colts have faced two high quality QBs this season: Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger threw 6 TD passes against them and while Brady struggled, they ran about 200 yards down their throat.

Forgive me if I am unconcerned about their statistics in the AFC south against the dumpster fire teams they get to enjoy trouncing every week.

EDIT: Oh yeah - Peyton Manning also passed for 3 TDs against them

If we have the usual good balance of run/pass we should hang another 30+ burger on the board.

That said we may give up as many as we score...

BTW, since this thread is about Vontae Davis -

Yes, he's a great DB. I don't mean to diminish his abilities - he is very very good. But one great DB does not a strong defense make. @Risen Star may disagree, but that's none of my business.

Let's hope this game turns out better than the Cardinals' one, both in terms of this individual matchup and the overall score.

Davis got injured at the start of that Pitt game, but yeah their pass defense is definitely overrated due to playing in the AFC South

My answer to the hand wringing about Vontae Davis is this.
