Romo had his best season, but he didn't do the kind of things Rodgers did. Dallas played far more conservatively and relied on the run more, WHICH I AM GLEEFULLY THANKFUL FOR!

Yes, but the fact of the matter is, his ratings were higher than Rodgers', ratings which are supposed to give a full perspective of performance. If you don't believe that Romo had the best all around season, you don't believe in the QB rating system. Which is fine, but that's the reality.

Ratings are a ridiculously bad way to judge QBs. You can throw a 1-yard hitch, and the guy goes 90 yards. Or you can throw a pick at the end of a half on a hail mary to the end zone.

Just watch the game. Romo was excellent, but Rodgers was out of this world good most of the year.

I'm pretty sure winning the MVP means little to nothing to Rodgers after the NFC CG. If he were really the best, it would've been him losing to Brady instead of Wilson.

This is why ESPN devised its own system, because the traditional rating system is lousy.

And Rodgers threw for more yards and touchdowns than Romo, and fewer interceptions, if you want to play the stats game. Romo was 14th in yards.

I hate stats. I go by what my eyes say, and Rodgers was unbelievable this year.

Yards passing is THE worst stat in terms of measuring performance. Romo finished ahead of Rodgers under ESPN's system as well. As I said, I would probably lean slightly towards Rodgers because of his great TD-INT ratio but Romo obviously had areas where he excelled too, his completion percentage being a big one.

He may be the best player, but the award isn't for the best player, it's for the most valuable. J.J Watt isn't even top 10 MVP, there's easily 10 other players more important to their team then J.J. Watt. Now if the award was "best player", then I agree it's Watt.

Rodgers
Romo
Brees
Brady
Rivers
Ben
Manning
Luck
Patriots equipment manager
Seahawks prescription doctor

Are all worth more wins to their team then JJ Watt is to his.

I agree, and take it even further. If the player's team doesn't even make the playoffs, then he should not receive any votes as the league's MVP.
