It was a near perfect throw that Dez normally catches.
Hardly, it was directly to the safety over the top. even if dez was there it ws over his head. Dak wound that thing up like he was going for max distant in the Old QB challenges. Dak was frustrated and literally threw up a prayer, treated it like a punt.

It only looked that way because Dez loafed on the route. Had he given it 100 percent effort, he would have been about 10 yards further than he ended up... Hence in position to challenge for a catch.

He stopped on the route because he was expecting the ball somewhere else. Watch it he is looking everywhere but the middle of the field. For whatever reason him and Dak were off on their route adjustments all night. He literally turned towards dak expecting the ball there and then started scanning the sky for the punt Dak threw. It was not the only time their route adjustments were off, the witten out and Dez comback near the sideline and the ball over shoots witten and lands 5 yards in front of dez

Again... I have said this elsewhere today but I will say it again. You just proved my point. Dak and Dez need to be squarely on the same page and, as the veteran in that combo, I expect Dez to lead the way in making sure those extra one on one session happen. Everyone wants to pile on Dak but Dez is the veteran stud #1 receiver here. I need a little more leadership from him in working out those kinks with Dak. If those two aren't on the same page come playoff time, you can hang it up.

Dez has always struggled to get separation vs better CBs, but a guy with his physical traits has to be thrown to even when he looks like he's covered. A QB can't go away from Dez just because he's covered; sometimes you have to throw that pass and trust your physically imposing #1 to win the battle for the ball or break up the pass or make the tackle on a deep ball so it works like a punt on third down.

My problem with Dez last night was he looked like he quit on patterns when he wasn't separating, even though his QB sometimes gave him chances to make plays and other times threw to him because he had no one else or no time.

While Dez was bad, some of the throws to him or to another receiver in the same area were not where they were supposed to be. Example there was one pass along the sideline Witten did and out and dez did a comeback but the ball either was over throw to Witten or under throw to Dez. Part me believes the route call at the line was confused, its a weird route combo an out and comeback in the same area.

That was a bad throw. Dez ran a conversion void route vs cover 2. Dez was where he was supposed to be.

That may be true regards Dez but history has shown that isn't his nature.
Dak is the the leader by nature and position.
I might suggest that while Dez is freakishly athletic his mentally soft.
Maybe the cold got in his mind, maybe etc.,etc. or maybe the wholw team had a bad game?
Edit that: the defense was pretty damn good.

A near perfect throw does not pull the receiver back into the middle of the field and in the direction of the deep safety help. I don't disagree with the throw but it should have been to Dez's outside shoulder away from the deep safety not towards him. It was a bad throw, it happens. That said Dez did nothing to try and prevent it (for whatever reason).

Yes Dez was awful but I don't recall Dak's 20 incomplete passes being directed all at him. Dak missed many receivers over the course of the game. There is room enough to blame both for bad performances last night.

A level headed response from someone regarding the beloved Dez. I'm in shock.

It's kinda hard to throw to an outside shoulder in a split second when that outside shoulder is 10 yards away from where it should be in the pattern because it's attached to a loafer.

But Dez should've ran the conversion snapper sizzle snap Nebraska swizzle Jack Frost nipping on chest nuts goat bag Y whipper donkey cyclops route. But since Dez is a jag off, Dak and Dez will not hook up on the route tree.

It's no secret.

Dez is one of Jerry's pets. He shows up when he wants to team meetings, rehabs, and games. He gets a disproportionate amount of passes his way regardless.

We are having our best season since 92 or 93 and who has to come along and screw things up. None other than Jerry Jones and his pet Dez Bryant.

Dez could have caught the throw on the left sideline but didn't come back for the ball. It was as if he didn't see it or just quit too soon.

Brian Broaddus (BB) mentioned on the Lunch Break (www.dallascowboys.com) podcast Dez did not look prepared. He compared Dez's game to the ones as a rookie when he had no clue what to do or where to be. He said Dez was not on the same page as Dak.

I know some on this board do not care for BB's opinions but I tend to value most of his thoughts when it comes to payer analysis.
