Biggest fear coming from this Off Season?

I think the FO is making moves to push for a SB in a 3 -5 years..
By that time, Romo will be gone, probably witten too...

Then we either have to start a rook, a guy like weeden, or a high profile FA QB. if were lucky.

And it doesn't work. Putting a really good team strong and balanced and ready to push for a SB withOUT a QB. and we miss all our chances to make SB.

I know all about Scotty Bowman. I grew up playing hockey and watching the Red Wings. He is one of the best coaches of all time.

The rest of that really doesn't apply. They're clearly NOT in tear down/rebuild mode. Not even close.

you're last or in denial ... we are losing players left and right ..we are going to the draft for our replacements ...Stephen Jones is taking a new approach ...

I posted this in my own thread, but I think it is just as relevant here if not more so:

2014 Cowboys that started their career with the Cowboys: our entire starting offense (was originally going to make a list... but... really... it's just everyone including most of the backups), Lawerence, Crawford, Spencer, Lee, Hitchens, Carter, Wilcox, Church, Scandrick, and yes Mo.

2014 Cowboys that started off somewhere else: Mincey, McClain, Melton, Durant, Carr.

We turned that into a 12-4 team, and of 3 (or 4 depending on how you feel about Melton) of the 5 guys in the second list were small, short contracts to players that they thought might work out well. Look at most elite teams and you will see something like this (yes the Seahawks did pay a bit for Avril and Bennett, and the Pats got Revis to a 1 year contract, but that seems to generally be the exception rather than the rule with those teams). That is why I say that we should continue to build through the draft and find some stop-gap guys (of which there are still a few Michael Johnson, Abraham, Freeney, Biermann that might be had at DE and even more at DT) that will allow us to continue to go after BPA. That is why I don't worry that we aren't overpaying in the first days of free agency.
