How excited are you about our pass rush?

Our secondary is a joke and will get torched all year. But by all means, dont let me ruin your pipe dream.

I'm cautiously optimistic about our pass rush. When you add what we did in FA to our draft, I think we will be just fine on the DL.
 <----Hey look. I eat that stuff too.

I like him, too. Though it's kinda sad that our best corner is a slot corner. Also, I still haven't completely forgiven him for biting on a 5yd out fake and getting burned at the very end of the game at Detroit in 2013 (the Stafford goal line leap/lean game). Everybody in the stadium knew they were going deep on that play except Oscandalous.

2nd and 10 at DET 37
(0:40 - 4th) M.Stafford pass deep left to K.Durham pushed ob at DAL 23 for 40 yards

Was a slot corner. Now he can man up on the edge against anyone.

True, he has proven that. I really like his aggressive play and the fact that he's not afraid of contact. No question in my mind that I'd rather have him on the field than off it.

He's back baby! & I think his presence will elevate that defense. Consider him an x factor. If he's back at 100%, that defense will feed off of his passion. I'm excited.

Bloke, passion and $3.50 will get you a small coffee at Starbucks.
I don't care anymore for passion and work ethic and intelligence, mate, which all our players have, presumably.
What I really want is talent and skills that translate into aggressive play, INTs, fumbles and, on occasion, safety blitzes from his mates that fell the opposing QB.
Scandrick has had lots of time to perfect his skills and improve his play beyond a journeyman. He strictly a perennial project., in my book.

Weird Scandrick bro-mance tones aside, Scandrick's a beast. I'll take 11 guys with his attitude on my defense and be happy with it. Criticize him for a lack of takeaways, that's fair. Knock him for his taste in women, because she's noxious. But the little dude can cover, and he can tackle, and he wants to win. Can't ask for much more than that.

Im going to go out on a limb here and say you are cautiously optimistic about a lot of things. :)

What did we do in the draft? A 4th and 3rd round pick? Those cats wont help much this year at all. As you and others have mentioned......................rookie defensive players rarely have an impact. And certainly not 3rd and 4th rounders. Dont be a hypocrite about that.

Personally, I think this will be one of the worst Dlines in the NFL and certainly for the first 4 games. Now if we get out to big leads, that will help mask it. But that is about the only hope I see.

FYI............Looks like RKG McClain is another no show for off season practice.

Agreed, but he is coming off a major injury and a year off from football. You should expect some serious rust to be realistic.

Now you are finally figuring me out. I am a perpetual GHFKG (glass half full kinda guy). I get passed off like the next person but I get over it quickly.

I've torn a couple of ACLs, but never an MCL. The ACL is not a big deal, given enough time, but maybe you're right that doing both of them at once is more significant. Either way, with ligament damage, if he trusts the the knee will hold up, there's not much to overcome once you've regained the muscle and the repairs are done. But that mental hurdle can be a challenge. I expect we'll see pretty quickly if his game is diminished or not.

He made plays in 2013 and 2014. Until i see otherwise, he is a playmaker

In the 7 seasons Scandrick has played he only has 7 INT's that's not what I consider a playmaking corner. He's been a "good" player and the best corner we've had in awhile but that's about it, he's certainly nothing special. Being our best corner isn't saying much with the lackluster group we have. He was part of our secondary that got torched in 2013. Even with him our secondary has been crap for years. He would rank well down the list of best corners in the league. He's coming off a serious knee injury which is going to be tough to rebound from for a 29 year old corner. Like I said I think he's a good player but some are going a little overboard on his return.
