My Buckeyes Got Destroyed!

NCAA rules prohibit the Big 10 from holding a championship game. They require 12 teams to hold one.

The only team they could add to get a 12th that would lend any prestige to the conference and make sense geographically is Notre Dame and it doesn't want to lose its NBC revenue.

That's weired. If this is how it works, then why would there be a vote at all within the conference? The vote and it's unanimous results were clearly reported by ESPN earlier in the year. Seems odd that it would be reported if not possible.

As far as teams that might be available, I'd have to think that the Big East has a few teams. Marshall might also be a fit. If they wanted to get it done, I think the opportunity would probably be there. JMO of course.

Marshall, at this time, does not deserve to be in the Big Ten.

I think a couple of years ago they may have had a chance at the big ten or big east, but was only offered CUSA...and IMO they should have stayed in the mac.

I doubt the Big East would want to lose anymore teams right, plus although they were considered to be weaker as a Football conf after the exodus of some teams, they knew they would not get a great deal of good football teams so they went after mostly Basketball teams.

Now they have a great Basketball conf, and it turns out their football conf turned out ok.

Of course the loss of Petrino hurts.

The 12 team for a championship game was in for the lower levels then the SEC and then old Big 8 saw the loophole and dove through.

You'll never convince the Big 10 to accept anyone other than ND unless a Big 12 team like Iowa State or Missouri or an SEC team like Kentucky wanted to defect.

They don't want a "city" school like Louisville or Pittsburgh but after experiencing what it's like to get to Penn State, they don't want a "rural" school either due to travel constraints.

Well, to me, I don't think it matters if they deserve it right now or not. This is more a question of doing what you have to to win championships for the Big 10. I don't know how it works for schools if they are invited to join a conference but I imagine there are options available to jump confrences. If the Big 10 were to invite a school like Marshall in, that would immediatly help that program. Obviously, you would not come in strong but it would not take you long to become stronger simply because of the conference. Of course, the other option would be to go after a school like Louisville and then have the Big East court a school like Marshall perhaps. Either way you slice it, I think the Big 10 has to do something to avoid this type of situation. I mean, any time you have a team good enough to make the BCS Championship game, your going to be faced with a situation where they are sitting around for 50+ days. That can not happen IMO. Big 10 almost has to do anything.

I saw that Ginn's injury occured during his post-TD celebration. That's gotta suck.

That was a huge momentum swing, although it seemed like it was Florida's night anyway.

Yes it looked like his own players injured him.

And you are right about it being floridas night as well.

One could argue that Ginn being gone hurt that offense a great deal and let the Florida defense pin their ears back without having to worry about getting beat by ginn in blitzing situations.

However Ohio States defense was just flat out killed.

The OSU defense was confused and on it's heels the entire game.

Tressell was clearly outcoached in this game.

I don't think I've ever seen a Tressel team not ready to play.....until tonight.

Seriously though, there is a reason the underdog has won 5 out of the last 6 in this game. Football is about emotion. Pure and simple. And when one team is told over 40 days that they are inferior to another team, and they can't win, it tends to make them real, real mad. See Boise State.

That and the other "better" team gets lulled to sleep..:laugh2:

A fine morning it is....

Hopefully my prayers excorcised those paranoia demons from you.

Oh, I'm sure it's a fine morning for you.

However, if I were you, I'd save those prayers for myself.

Thankfully, I am not you. I have no need of them.

No I didn't think Quinn was a reach in the first. He's going to go in the First maybe First.

Now with those indescribable...There's not a word for them that I can think of you've got to be Sh@ting me Numbers....

ABQCOWBOY is right Smith no matter what now is going to be Drafted as the Water Boy. :D

Well why wouldn't it be a fine morning for me? Nothing has happened to change my life....perhaps yours....but that's the anger within that I've warned you about, and the obsession. You have to let it go or it'll eat you alive.

And that's the denial I've also warned you of. The psychological damages are becoming so evident....perhaps you've been off your meds? I do regret getting into your head as I have...hopefully the consequences will be small...I couldn't live with myself if you put yourself or others in danger as a result of one of your 'spells'.

So, how long you gonna wait?

No, that's not what I think about Smith CC. :)

While I think it was a tough loss, I also think that if he does well in his Combine, he will get a chance somewhere.

Actually it's labeled 'geek' in the index....generally reserved for those that average over 8.90 posts a day on a single message board.

Good to know. I'll file that away with all the rest of your surprisingly useful gems.

When do you think?
