Im sorry, there is way too much talent on this defense for them to let teams score on them in 47 Seconds or whatever time it took Eli Manning to drive down the field just before the half ended.

The sad part is, I think that probably was there for the Giants the entire game.
Do you think DeMarcus Ware has peaked yet? I don't.There is room fo him to improve and I have every expectation that he will.

and I maintain, with the exception of two drives Our defense played very well today. and it will be better next year.

I kinda started liking ole' Wade.

But I'm afraid this game has cost him dearly.

Bye Wade.

I have thought since we started playing fairly poorly in December that Wade Phillips was playing for his job when we got into the Playoffs.

Here are the reasons why I feel they should go ahead and promote Jason Garrett:

1) It is fairly clear that Jerry Jones really likes Jason Garrett. I think for the most part, it is expected that he will be a Head Coach in the NFL at some point. He is on our Coaching Staff now but he will be a hot comodity and we should go ahead and make the move.

2) The Cowboys came into the game with the Giants with the number 1 seed, a 1st Round By, Homefield advantage, 12 Pro Bowlers, 3-4 All Pros, Comeback player of the year and we still lost.

The Giants were without their 2 starting Corners, Jeremy Shockey, Aaron Ross went down, which eventually led to a Practice Squad player (his name escapes) being brought into the game for the first time in his career and the Cowboys still lost.

We also were beaten by a team we beat twice in the Regular Season and won by double digits both times.

3) Wade Phillips is 60 years old and has been a Head Coach/Interim Head Coach 3 times, including his stint here. He has a 0-4 Playoffs record and at some point you have to make the assumption that Wade Phillips is what he is, a decent Coaching Assistant, but as a Head Coach, extremely mediocre.

4) I really don't want to get into the Playoff Game against the Giants, but the Defense certainly dug in in the 2nd Half but that Giants' drive at the end of the 2nd Quarter was pathetic and Wade Phillips didn't adjust. Plenty of blame to go around, including Wade Phillips

Good post Mick and I agree with all of your points. I just think our defense really misses that punch or that extra something. Yes, we have some pro bowlers on defense and we had some great defensive performances but I never felt like our defense was one of the best in the NFL or really the type that could apply pressure.

I disagree completely. I thought their offense pretty much had their way with us. I think some of their offensive playcalling hurt them more than our defense had anything to do with stopping them. I just didn't see our team apply the type of pressure that Romo faced from their defense

Jerry stated point blank that Wade will be back next season, win or loss.

Where do you people come up with this crap? Seriously.

230 yards of offense and the only sustained drive the Giants had in the second half was on an extremely short field.

The Giants hardly "had their way with us." We had them dead to rights and we screwed it up.

Wade needs to take the blame for this loss.

He's our coach.

Taking responsibility for a loss and "bye bye Wade" are 2 completely different things.

I've taken your case, and filed it appropriately.

One year later, and we're still blaming the coaches for the clear failings of the players. The more things change...

Wade probably needs to lay low for a week.

Windward, it is not about Demarcus Ware peaking, the guy is already a beast.

The fact is we walked on the field with 12, yes 12 Pro Bowl players and were 1 and done.

How many dang on Pro Bowlers and All Pros do we need to win one, jusut one Playoff Game?

This team is already good enough. We were the class of the NFC throughout the season and then we tanked.

What really sucks is that we were relatively healthy as well.

The Mavericks and now the Cowboys :(

and that's the crux of the matter. this team is not that far away.

Keep it together and we may take that elusive step next year.

Wade should be fired tonight, no questions asked. The guy is a bum, 0-4 speaks for itself.

His defense choked and his policy against penalties is a complete and absolute joke and it bit him in the arse today.

His "yee haw let's go have some fun boys" hillbilly approach works for one year after having a tyrant like Parcells, but it's going to wear off quick. We need to get a real coach in here before the window closes.

Well said!

Wade came in as an offensive genius and our defense has digressed.

Cut your losses, jerra, fire this sad sack of a coach. We'll respect you for rethinking your hire and acknowledging the Cowboys need a world-class coach, not a tired retread.

What a wihiner you are. Your post is really dumb. Doesn't matter how many pro bowlers you got; if you can't lead and inspire -- like Wade CANNOT -- your team will tank in the big games

And you never once mentioned the true goat: Wade.

The refrain 13-3! still echoes. It's old.
Just like Wade.

btw: the Mavs suck and always will

The fact that you are agreeing with that mental midget speaks volumes

Are you really so dumb that you don't realize that the person you're replying to is also the author of the OP?

What are you talking about with Jason Garrett?

Miles Austin was wide-open on the deep pass, and TO also was good on the long ball. If any coach needs to be blamed, it's Parcells boy, Sparano. He can't get his offensive line any fluidity, and they couldn't hold anything.

Those runs in the first half were all Barber and his grit.

The Giants DL (best pass rush in the NFL) got the better of the OL at the end, but it should never had to come down to a final drive. Romo was given considerable time for 3+ quarters, and even Buck and Aikman commented on it.

The ONLY thing the offense had going for it today was the OL and MB3, and we couldn't even sustain that. The passing attack was inconsistent at best, inexcusable at worst, for four entire quarters.

They did the exact same thing at the end of the half in the game at NY, and used the exact same play that got them to the 4 last night. It was after the silly Burnett penalty. Sad that a yahoo like me knew that play was coming but Reeves and company let Boss run the same pattern.

Lots of blame to go around though, clearly not just the D.

In general we need players who realize that the season is 16 games, plus 3 or 4 playoff games, and the each game is 60 minutes, and that every single play is important. If Wade can't get our players to that point, he's not the right guy.

Wade stays. It's the players job to execute. Wade did nothing today to hurt the team, and we did make strides forward.

This is a bitter, bitter loss and should not have happened but to blame Wade somehow is garbage.

If you want to question personnel decisions (REEVES) that's another thing, but we had who we had going in and should have easily won this game going away. We let the Giants hang, and they stole one. It's as simple as that.

BTW, anyone worried about what other NFL coaches would think if we fired Wade should really not be worried. NOBODY is going to care because everyone knows he's just a friggin bus driver. Do you want to know why he barely got any coach of the year votes despite having the best team in the NFC? Because the talent won games for this team, not Wade Phillips.

"Mr. Fix It" came in and his defense sucked. Then he made players sign some stupid *** "no penalty" contract which, as you can tell from the 58 penalties we had Sunday, obviously worked.

Get RID of this guy. ASAP.
