Dude if you want to spend that much money on a efensive player we might as well just go after Julius Peppers.

Thank God I found your comment. I've been so confused as to why the Cowboys are not interested in him. Everyday I look on dallascowboys.com to see if anything has changed in that dept., and everyday i'm disappointed. I'm surprised that we are the only fans who want this guy on our squad. I say if it's between him, r.lewis, or julius peppers...go get Asomugha!!

Ok, before some you jump all over me about this,I know that buying "superstars" is not what this team needs right now,but this could greatly improve our team by getting a superstar without the "superstar attitude". let me just make my case on why Nnamdi should be targeted this offseason.

Our CB for 09 will be..
Newman- One of the best in the game...when healthy..I'm not confident that he will play all 16 games. Seems to be injury prone the last few years

Jenkins-Solid..but needs alot of work

Scandrick-Edges out Jenkins and could be a great corner.

Henry-Slow,overpaid,ZERO leadership, constantly torched for TD's

Ball- Ummmm....

So if/when Newman gets injured that leaves Jenkins and Scandrick..with Henry or Ball in nickel? thats just asking for trouble.

We are 10 million under the salary cap after we sign our draft choices(correct me if I'm wrong)..Releasing some dead weight could even help clear up more room. Zach Thomas will also be leaving which creates 5 more million.

Release
Ellis..Overpaid,old,ZERO leadership..can be replaced via draft
Henry-Slow,,constantly getting beat, overpaid,ZERO leadership..can be replaced via draft
RW(38)- Servicable SS but is making way to much than what he actually brings to the team..release or reconstruct that contract..or can be replaced via draft

With those 3 gone and Zach that can add an extra 11-13 million to the cap. Ware is going to get paid, but that still leaves more than enough. With 11 draft picks this year, we can replenish what we already cut, and get alot younger.

Nnamdi is the definition of a shutdown corner. I live in the Bay Area and always hear about him. I always get a chance to watch him and hes a phenom. Making the probowl and 1st team all defensive team shows how great he really is. With Newman and Asomugha, it would only make Ware and Spencer that much better(scary). They both can be left on islands, creating more pressure and different schemes. It would also help out the safetys play more against the run. With pacman gone, we really need more depth at the CB position, because if Newman goes down, it could get ugly. I've heard nothing about great things about Nnamdi from the raider organization and is a "team first" kind of guy. He plays in Oakland and you never hear a word from him, that should tell you something. Great teammate and even better player.

Another point is that the Eagles signed Asante last year even when they had Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard..adding a shutdown corner is always a good thing. They were ranked 3rd overall in defense, partly due to the fact that they could bring more pressure with two corners on an island.

Nnamdi has stated that he would rather not sign back with Oakland(can you blame him?)..Just kind of spilling my thoughts here with words..Do you guys agree with me?

I read that whole thing, can I jump all over you now?

if Only we could get nnamdi, peppers, and haynesworth. We would have an even better roster, 0 leadership and probably will end 09 without a playoff win. It would be amazing, it's the new obstacle. How much talent can you acquire while continuously not winning a playoff game. Looks like right now we are the blueprint of the NFL.

he is way too expensive as everyone has said.

He completely shut down steve smith this year all by himself, with no safety help.

he is one hell of a player.

I wouldn't call this a dumb idea, especially considering the cutting of Pacman, the potential position transition and overall decline of ability in Henry and the inexperience of last year rookies. However, I do agree that SS, MLB, the DL, and, of course, the resigning of Demarcus Ware should be higher on the Cowboys list.

At the end of the day, though, if acquiring him doesn't compromise their ability to shore up these other postions, I say why not, provided your assessment of his abilities are accurate. You can never have too many CB's in this league.

No thanks. Those of us who post a ton need players on this team whose names we can spell without having to look it up every damn time.

My case against it. Money. The NFL draft is the life blood of building a good team. Buying players in free agency is the way to kill a team. Picking up one maybe two is ok, but when you really start grabbing guys, you wreck your salary cap, you throw off your chemistry, and you're bring in guys who already have a mind set from the last team that surely differs from what you plant in your team. We've already seen what happens when you have voices that speak out against the team.

He is going to cost as much as Haynesworth, or in that range. And Haynesworth just said he wants to be paid the highest amount for any defensive player in football. I bet Ware's agent is keeping an eye on what Haynseworth is going to get, and work from there.

if this has already been posted or not, but the Cowboys can't sign him, even if they wanted to, because they don't have a #1 pick (* if he's tagged ).

He was tagged last year so he can't be tagged again.

He would be nice but we need Linebackers, D-Lineman, and safety help far before we need more corner help.

no thanks. we need to get more players for our front 7 mainly DE,DT, and ILB and a safety more than another overpaid corner.
Agreed, I think more pressure from our DLine/Lbs will help the 2ndary A LOT. Despite leading the league in sacks, I think the pressure was inconsistant and there were numerous times on 3rd and long that they couldn't get pressure and get the other team off the field.
