Tony Romo.
You would have been laughed at by me if you made that comparison in April, but through two preseason games he looks like a carbon copy of Romo.
Both have moderately good arm strength (which in terms of pure arm strength is what you really want nowadays if you look at the elite QBs in the NFL) Dak I believe had a better trajectory on his deep passes but Romo has a quicker release (still Romo's calling card as a passer)
Athleticly Dak is much better athlete and a bigger threat with his legs, however he seems disinterested in being the "duel threat" QB. He seems intent on playing with then mentality of a pocket passer. His maneuvering in the pocket mirrors a young Romo. He hasnt quite shown the ability young Romo had to manipulate the pocket (very few if any can on that level) but he is seems very comfortable moving in the pocket.
Traits wise is tougher to call. Dak does seem to have the same aggressiveness to attack the defense like Romo. He is not afraid of the deep ball and trusts his WR's to win those. He seems like a gunslinger in the Romo mold. Where this is hard to call is we havent seen him have to bounce back from that turnover. This is where his success make it hard. I kinda wish that INT hadnt been called back
Im gonna close with a different comparison to another elite QB. Drew Brees. What madr Brees special is that he was very able to sponge up and adapt to to an offense, being a guy that has been top end QB in different teams and different offenses. Dak seems like the type of QB that thinks to himself " What do I have to do to thrive on this system" and goes out and makes it a reality like Brees has been able to in both San Diego and New Orleans
