If he did you would think their experience and his would say make sure witten is covered.

Teams have been trying to stop Witten since 2003. So they pay attention to him, someone else opens up. They may forget about Beasley and / or Escobar.

I don't think you gain any strategic advantage by signing former Cowboys to learn their systems. The Cowboys offensive and defensive systems are extraordinarily simple. They focus on execution and individual dominance. Tactics might change game to game based on the gameplan, but any coordinator consistently fooled by the Cowboys would have to be a moron.

This applies to all teams in the NFL. Though Chip doesn't think it applies to his team. Which will be their downfall, long term.
Belicheck doesn't either, but then again he just cheats. LOL.

I think that part of the reason Philly offered him as much as he did is because they may have wanted some inside info on the Cowboys as far as how our offense works and maybe even our defense. I say this because the Skins signed one of our guys a couple years ago mid-season, only to release him after the season was over (or it may have been after the Cowboys game, not sure which) and I am certain that was the only reason the Skins signed him.

I know I know, I'm crazy for even suggesting it! But you can;t sit there and tell me that the Eagles this week haven't sat there and asked Murray "So, what does it mean when Romo says 'Tacoma'?" or whatever. Ryan Matthews and Sproles are more built for Kelly's offense than Murray is. Kelly needs quick, agile backs that can receive (I know Murray can catch, not saying he can't) and make a guy miss. Murray belongs in a pro style offense that runs down hill where he can be a bruiser. It didn't make sense to me when Murray signed in Philly, and still doesn't, especially after he has 9 yards total last week.

They could get that information from somebody like Dwayne Harris for much less money. They could have signed the Cowboys 4th string OT from last season (Tony Hills) for the veteran minimum. It's not as if there are secrets that only Romo, Murray and Witten knew that the other offensive players didn't know.

My conspiracy theory is that Jerry told Murray to sign with the Eagles and then to intentionally suck. Then when the Eagles cut him, Jerry would re-sign him and the Cowboys would go the Super Bowl while the Eagles crash and burn and their cap is screwed up by the cap space they lost giving Murray all that guaranteed money.

Excellent question. It's possible Dez would still be holding out and Crawford playing without a new deal.

They should have let Dez hold out. It would have been much cheaper for him to miss half the season while holding out than the current cost. j/k

LOLLLL

Info on how the Cowboys offense works? Reeeeaally

We're as basic as basic can be. There is no dynamic.

We saw a wrinkle last week with the short screen passes.. That's about the only new thing we've seen.

Here is what Dallas does.

WR's need to win 1 on 1 matchups.

Impose will on the ground.

If all fails then contain Romo from buying time and making a play outside of the scheme.

That's it.

Yeah, this is some crazy conspiracy stuff here. They could sign a guy who went to camp with the Cowboys for nothing if they were after information, and it would be more current!

But I will say that this Murray signing has always felt like a Rickey Watters type mistake-in-the-making for me. A big-money free agent signing with sky-high expectations, doomed to failure. I don't think he can or will ever fulfill the level of expectations that his arrival and contract would require.

And I think that although no one will ever admit it, I believe that both parties already have a measure of remorse about the deal.

If Philly wins the NFCE. No one in Philly will be complaining.

It was a big big gamble for them. They went for it..... maybe they are just holding their breath right about now:)

No chance they signed him to that deal for some info they should be able to get by watching film. I think the signing was an impulse signing with the thought that they wanted to weaken a division opponent's strength and they'd figure out how to use him later. He certainly does not fit Kelly's offense very well. If week one is any indication of their plan for him, he is going to get an occasion carry, get the ball when they are inside the 10 hoping he can gain those tough yards, and I suspect he will see the ball a lot more when they are ahead in games. They were never ahead in week one so that part of his game plan was never utilized. That's a lot of money for that type of role player RB but I still contend they made the signing on impulse mainly to take away a strength of their biggest threat in the division. Was that smart? We will see as the season unfolds.

I don't think any player can help a new team with information regarding the scheme or gameplans of their former team. terminology changes, concepts change, etc. However, what someone like Murray can do is give them insight into how Tony sees things and his thought process. With Murray being such a huge part of the Offense last year, he spent a lot of time looking at film with Tony and Tony breaking it down so they were on the same page. The insight on how Tony breaks a D down and what he keys off of, that might be some good information that Murray could pass on. Sunday will be interesting. Go Cowboys!!

I remember Ricky's first game with the Eagles. He got "alligator arms" going across the middle because he did not want to get hurt. The fans let him know they were not happy. His post game interview was full of excuses why he would not stretch out to catch the ball but everyone knew he was scared and only thought of himself.

"For who? For what?" Became permanently attached to his time in Philly.
