Stephen McGee not the QB I wanted. However he is decent value here considering we need a young QB to groom. I would have preferred them to get Bomar with this pick but I guess they like McGee better. This bad and good value not a reach like Brewster.
I am a Texas State fan, we played Bomar, and in all honesty, he was the 3rd best QB in the Southland Conference at BEST. He is extremely inaccurate, and throws a TON of bad passes. Having seen him in person against FCS competition, I do not understand how he could even get drafted. All he has going form him is a strong arm, but he only completed 56% of his passes last year, and most of it had nothing to do with bad WR's, it is because he forced his WR's to strech and drive for balls all day long.

Victor Butler wow simply wow want to talk about a reach? This pick is a reach and a half. I dislike this pick for multiple reason. One you want to go DE/OLB and this your first choice? Michael Johnson was still available before we even made a pick. It makes me think about what kind of draft strategy the cowboys employed during the draft. Terrible value for this pick worse than Brewster this guy was projecting 7th round- UFA.
I do not know anything about Butler just like I don't know anything about most of the guys we drafted. But, this is the scouting report off the ESPN website.
Butler has the size and quickness to line up at the rush-end position in a 3-4 look.
His quick first step and explosiveness off the edge makes him one of this year's most intriguing midround pass-rushing prospects. However, Butler must get stronger at the point of attack and be more consistent as an open-field tackler.
ESPN's bio says he is a mid round prospect, and I consider the 4th round one of the MID rounds....
