Some of the Brewster reactions remind me of when we took Hatcher. At first everyone wondered who the hell this mammoth reach was, then we learned that several teams liked him and that we took him in about the right spot.

Oh since we have hatcher who has hasn't really been consistent has only shown flashes is the reason why we reached on brewster that's a great example.

Stephen McGee not the QB I wanted. However he is decent value here considering we need a young QB to groom. I would have preferred them to get Bomar with this pick but I guess they like McGee better. This bad and good value not a reach like Brewster.

I am a Texas State fan, we played Bomar, and in all honesty, he was the 3rd best QB in the Southland Conference at BEST. He is extremely inaccurate, and throws a TON of bad passes. Having seen him in person against FCS competition, I do not understand how he could even get drafted. All he has going form him is a strong arm, but he only completed 56% of his passes last year, and most of it had nothing to do with bad WR's, it is because he forced his WR's to strech and drive for balls all day long.

Victor Butler wow simply wow want to talk about a reach? This pick is a reach and a half. I dislike this pick for multiple reason. One you want to go DE/OLB and this your first choice? Michael Johnson was still available before we even made a pick. It makes me think about what kind of draft strategy the cowboys employed during the draft. Terrible value for this pick worse than Brewster this guy was projecting 7th round- UFA.

I do not know anything about Butler just like I don't know anything about most of the guys we drafted. But, this is the scouting report off the ESPN website.

Butler has the size and quickness to line up at the rush-end position in a 3-4 look. His quick first step and explosiveness off the edge makes him one of this year's most intriguing midround pass-rushing prospects. However, Butler must get stronger at the point of attack and be more consistent as an open-field tackler.

ESPN's bio says he is a mid round prospect, and I consider the 4th round one of the MID rounds....

Given what sort of player Hatcher hasn't become, whoever thought he was a mammoth reach was right.

what's that mean?

To me it means you have been running around here like some stole your GF ever sinse TO got released and it's getting old. Your not just negative. Some of these guys express their displeasure here and there but realize not every thing is going to happen they they want it. You have been running around here *****ing and complaining about every thing from the moves the Cowboys make to what kid of toliet paper Jerry wipes his *** with and it's old.

I have never seen a "fan" do a complete 180 over a single player as you have.

You really went from someone I enjoyed talking with and reading posts from to the first person I have really ever debated putting on ignore outside of Nors.

nfldraft scout had him going in the 5th and said he was rate 15th at his position and 154 overall.

so? do any of them work for NFL teams? they are no more of an authority than anyone else that does this, incl Gosselin, who actually gets his info for his rankings from teams personnel and scouting dept guys. And he had Brewster rated as a solid 3rd rd pick.

So now we judge a draft based on where some draft service who doesn't talk with ANY NFL teams and doesn't get to bring players in for visits says that they will be drafted....

WOW, I don't even know what to say.....

I didn't even mention TO but that was an idiot move by this front office. If you think this team is good enough to make these bull **** moves and expect to go to the playoffs then thats you. Me on the other hand I see nothing that suggest this team will do anything to make up for the loses we have had. IF you factor in this poor excuse of the draft and them not even getting to the issue at hand. I don't see how you can even expect this team to be 500.

Ok. Guess Bill Belichick doesn't know anything about drafting defensive linemen.

This time last year the rants were similar.

How oh how could we use a 2nd on another TE... how oh how could we draft 2 RBs when we already had Marion Barber... how oh how could we pass Mendenhall who is the worlds best player like ever for Felix Jones who sucks and is not good enough to start in college ... why did we take another Cb in Scandrick after Jenkins.. so we'd have a special teamer of course ....

Bottom line here is the Dallas Cowboys drafted guys they felt they had a plan for and they felt they got good value on their board which is the only one that matters.

4 of these guys were routinely in mocks to us in Brandon Williams, McGee, Jason Williams and John Phillips.

There's little chance Dallas hit son all these guys but I am willing to bet they hit on over half of them and that they will form a good nucleus of young players along with the top heavy draft last year.

so that's your justification for Hatcher? because Belichick was interested in him ?

I could not agree with you more. Sound reasoning and I would have drafted Johnson with the first pick as well. And the Cowboys more than likely do the same, if they like Johnson as much as we do. For whatever reasons (and there quite a few, a guy with this much talent does not drop like this w/out flaws_plus they went into this draft w/a character profile) Cowboys preferred to go in another direction.

Was not crazy about the TE pick either, but they worked out the guy and saw something that they liked over other players still on the board.

Yeah 5-11. The problems with the team won't be gone. Also adding players for ST is also asinine. No back up center? Really? no full back really? Anderson blows and so does proctor.

5-11? we could of skipped this draft altogether and still get better than 5-11, but when I saw it was you that posted this thread - I knew what I got myself into when I opened it......
