I could turn it around the other way on you also.........and blah blah commentThis is the time where I wish this post could be saved and brought back in november so I could rub it in your faces but fact is you all would just disappear anyways.......Homerism is here to stay
So I guess they DON'T need to stop the run at all........best player available gets us the best NT in the draft. Not even sure why I have to defend the pick. Just get used to teams averaging 150 yards rushing a game against us. Then you will all be crying for a NT in the first 2 rounds next year.
You have no concept of scheme fit.
Staying with all our original picks this is who I would have taken.
1. Johnny Manziel
2. Kony Ealy
3. Louis Nix
4. DeAnthony Thomas
5. Jay Prosch
7. Jackson Jeffcoat
7. Seantrel Henderson
7. Tyler Lawson
7. Adrian Hubbard
7. Anthony Johnson
7. Christian Jones
Your guess is right. The Tampa-2s goals are as follows: Sacks and turnovers, NOT run stopping.
And no matter what you still have to STOP THE RUN
I prefer what Jerry and co did. By a LOT.
Its a pass happy league, you don't. If this was 1995, then yes.
49ers three straight NFC Championship appearances in a pass happy league.....enjoy the 20 times Kapernick drops back week 1.
And what do the 49ers have, that Dallas does not?
Ohh yeah....a DEFENSE.
Exactly......a defense with a STRONG front 7, not an undersized front 7 like the one we have and are continuing to build. Spencer 250, Lawrence 250, Melton 290 and McClain 300. Like I said enjoy watching teams run all over us and dominate the clock against us.
You are comparing the 49ers to Dallas, which doesn't work, also they run a 3-4 which Nix would be great in. In a Tampa-2, they want light DL to rush the passer, not stop the run. The downside of such a defense, is it bends, not breaks, so you will get sacks and turnover, but will give up rushing yards. Welcome to the Tampa-2.
really? What system does marinelli come from? What system did he coach in Chicago?Keep defending it but no matter which way you look at it the Tampa 2 is the thing of the past much like Kiffin and it showed last season.

Ok, so we signed and drafted Carr and Claiborne two man-man corners. So they don't fit the system right, so why are they still here? Does Selvie fit the system? Does Church? Do we scrap everyone, and if not why?
FYI not even Lovie Smith who ran the amazing tampa 2 follows its design much anymore. You need to play man to man these days. CBs playing zones are a thing of the past.....and try not to bring up Seattle because they play 4 times more man than zone. Bottom line is you need to be able to play man to man and be able to stop the run.
