My frustration with the 2012 draft reached a boiling point last night

Comparing our '12 draft with the Eagles '12 draft just made me sick to my stomach, I almost checked myself into Parkland Hospital last night.

You want to know why we suck every year? Throw away the myth that the draft is improving with Garrett just look at '12.

Trade up for a cornerback who can't make a play if his life and his family's lives depended on it. Meanwhile the Eagles get a game sealing interception from their 4TH ROUND PICK that year in Boykins.

While we have dime a dozen players like Wilber and Hanna to show for our mid/late picks, the Eagles got a STUD ferocious linebacker in Kendricks in the 2nd rd. That guy will be in the Pro Bowl soon while Carter continues to voluntarily run into blockers. Our 2nd round pick was right before the Kendricks pick, we could have had him but of course we went with the flashy pick that lives in the training room.

Add to the fact that they didn't wait till their QB was decrepit to find their replacement in the 3rd round and added to the trenches in round 1, it's easy to see why we are outclassed every year.

Our obsession with these "rudy" types got us Wilber, Matt Johnson and Caleb McSurdy!!!! LOL freaking McSurdy when you had Vontaze Burfict (top 3 linebacker in the league) waiting there for you but these imbeciles went with the Montana Muscle.

That draft ruined us.

ok here's a question. Is our drafts bad or is our coaches bad at developing young talent?

2012 could be one for the history books if Claiborne doesn't become a shutdown player.

Rarely saw or heard about Claiborne last night, that is a good thing for corners. I remember maybe one completion to Cooper on him. No complaints from me. Crawford has been out for the season. What did you expect?

Gotta love the 'we should have drafted x player in the 3rd, 4th, 5th round just because they looked semi-good in 1 game' threads. You could do this with every team that passed on that player every year. You can't pick every single player in the draft. I'm sure almost positive that Philly missed on players we've drafted that turned out to be way better than this guy.

So are we giving credit to Boykins for being behind Miles and Orton throwing the football behind Miles? I mean Boykins is looking like a fine corner but let's not sit here and act like the Eagirls secondary isn't one of the worst in the league. And while Boykins looked good I can't say that I was that impressed with a secondary that gave up 300+ yards yesterday lol.

And I thought Claiborne looked good. Especially coming back from injury. He struggled early on but he rebounded nicely as the season went on aside from the injuries.

We had the worst secondary in the league prior to bringing in Brandon Carr and Claiborne. I can't be upset because they invested in improving a very bad unit.

You're seriously going to whine about Morris after last night? The only reason we got any pressure was because our corners bought our line a ton of time.

Did Morris look like a player u trade a 2nd round pick for when he decided to needlessly go for the big hit on the sidelines instead of trying to intercept the ball? It's called awareness and playmaking skills. Boykins showed it, Claiborne didn't. I don't care if it was a pass thrown behind Miles, the corner still made the play.

so, when we heard their 4th round CB had made a game-ending interception, that was a bad thing for the eagles?

gotcha

Yea this is not the time to cry about Claiborne. Hard to play any better. I mean they didn't throw it his way. I guess you could get mad that they didn't throw his way lol? Hard to make plays with like 1 or 2 targets at you.

go back and read posts BEFORE the 2012 draft
this is not hindsight
there were MANY on this board against that stupid trade and many wanted boykins and liked him as CB

Orton threw it straight to the kid. That's impressive to you? Never mind that he was in poor position and Miles was off to the races on HIM.

I'm not a fan of trading up or down in the draft. I take who's there. I didn't like trading up for Claiborne but I could hardly blame them for trading up to address having the worst secondary in the league. I would be more mad if they sat there and relied on a 4th or 5th rounder to fix that need.

And Morris gave up 1 or 2 catches last night. I'll take that. Boykins was getting thrown on all that 1st half.

The timing of this couldn't have been any better. The one game where all 3 corners play lights out. I'm still waiting for Desean and Riley Cooper to do something. lol.

Give me a break. I don't get fixated on singular plays, nor do I care who another team drafted. That's an inane and fruitless endeavor. Claiborne played quite well last night, especially coming off an injury, and that's all I care about.

What's funny is that Zordon was one of the ones claiming that all our Giants turnovers were "lucky." But I guess if another team's db catches a ball thrown straight to him, it's not luck, it's "awareness."
