Doesn't matter anyway. Not winning anything under Dak's contract, so the entire staff will get redone at the end of it again.

Maybe, but the coaching staff that I've listed might be able to mitigate that contract. By demanding physicality, they might be able to make the team better and give Dak a scheme that's better for him.

Well, what's your ideal coaching staff? I provided coaches in this list that demand physicality. That's clearly lacking from this team. Who do you want at those spots?
My ewww wasn't a diss towards you personally it was towards the HC selection. I guess I'm not a fan of the niner guy being the OC because they'd just leave after having success. Rather just make the guy the head coach. But I 100 percent agree with having someone associated with Shanahan being on the staff next year

As I stated in the previous thread, I am not sure how to fix the problems with this team. However, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. I'm fully aware that most things won't change until Jerry sells, but this is the best way I can think of for trying to start fixing this mess.

I like Mike, but it's time for a new coaching staff (except for Bones as our special teams has been our best unit). So, below, I will name my ideal coaching staff between HC, DC, and OC:

HC - Aaron Glenn. He's the Lions DC. He also played for us (while Campbell played for us) from 2005-2006. We've gone offense with Garrett and Mike. I want to try something different. I think Glenn would help bring a physicality and a focus to our biggest weaknesses on defence. I think he's shown that he's a leader of men with the way he's turned the Lions defence into what they became. I think he'd make a good HC for us.

DC - Robert Saleh. To be complimentary of Glenn, I think Saleh would make a great DC for us. He'd bring a physical defence like we've seen from him. I think Glenn and Saleh would make a great team together to get this defence to playing more physically. That should help protect Micah and the rest of them by virtue of the fact we should be able to stop the run better and should be much more physical.

OC - Chris Foerster. He's the 49ers oline coach and running game coordinator (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Foerster). With the position he coaches, he's bound to be more focused on the oline and running the ball. This would benefit Dak because we would be able to run the ball more efficiently. This leads to more points in the RedZone, and likely it would lead to more opportunities for Dak to get the ball to our receivers on play actions. On top of this, the position he has coached for a long time would lead me to think that we would be much more physical on the ground.

So, yes, I think our coaching staff next year should be Aaron Glenn at HC, Robert Saleh at DC, Foerster at OC, and Bones at ST. I think this gives us a chance to start really focusing on improving our weaknesses. By focusing on them, we can turn them into strengths. These weaknesses happen to be the very core of fundamental football. So, by fixing what's the core of fundamental football, it stands to reason that we would likely be a much better team. It would probably take a couple of years to get the pieces together, but we saw how rapidly things changed when we got Quinn at DC. I would imagine our defence would have a considerable change and improvement just from this change alone. Additionally, we would be adding in a healthy dose of physical offense to make Dak's life much easier. I think this gives us the best chance of starting to improve this team, and starting to fix where our biggest weaknesses are.

Jerry does usually listen to his coaches. So, maybe having voices that are focused on physical football in his ear can help make this team more physical. Maybe, just maybe, we can see our window start to open again in the nearer future than it is now. Hopefully
i’m ok with this as long as we have a passing game coordinator that’s worked in a modern offense to help the OC in passing game.

Well, and that's the beauty of the list I have. We'd have two coaches from the Shanahan tree and one from the Campbell tree. We'd have an OC and a DC from the Shanahan tree and a HC that used to play here and is from the Campbell tree. I think it'd make a good staff.

Oh, no doubt, and I'd let the coaches and Dak sort that out. I think by having a 49ers coach as our OC might help there

Our owner will neuter them.

Imagine Dan Campbell in a suit, not cursing and not chewing dip. Jerry will turn him into a choir boy.

Oh, that's probably the case, but the only hope while Jerry is here is that we can find a coaching staff like what I suggested that can bring physicality. We have to be get as physical as possible in the offseason, or next year will be even worse.

i'd love to see mike vrabel as our next hc.
he'd instill some toughness into our team.
he's played in this league and is a bright def mind,in my opinion.
we lack toughness.
vrabel checks the boxes for me.

I don't get it, Jerry is our coach. He won't hire anyone that won't do as he is told.

Vrabel would be good too. Vrabel, Saleh, and Foerester would be a nice combo.

The only guy with the cachet to stand up to Jerry is BB, period. Say what you want about the guy but anyone else will end up being a yes man just like every other coach since BP.

i'd like to see them bring saleh in now as a def consultant.
wouldn't hurt,in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind that, but I think the damage on defence might be done. I think give the coaching staff I suggested (including Saleh) and entire offseason to put their stamp on the team going into next season. I think the team becomes really good.

The last person we need for a new HC is Belichick. His best days are way behind him. No more older retreads and has-beens. But, Jerry being Jerry, will still gravitate toward any coach that will basically be just another yes man. If you want to ask anyone who they would hire as the next Cowboys coach (regardless of what Jerry thinks) I'd ask Jimmy Johnson. Because he'd most likely recommend someone that compares to him. He'd be younger and hungrier too. Remember, it was Jimmy that was behind the construction of the great 90's Cowboy teams, not Jerry. Jimmy was a football lifer. Jerry was and still is, just a money grubbing attention *****.

Lol what?

How do you watch that game and not go to Ben Johnson?

I like Ben, and Ben Johnson and the rest of the coordinators I mentioned works for me too. I just think that Glenn is also a great coach. We could go either way with it.

Right, and that's why I'm suggesting something different. Glenn or Ben Johnson and the coordinators I mentioned would be new and might give us a brighter future. Worth trying I think.

Not really.

Hiring a defensive HC is pointless. It is an offensive league. Defensive HCs don't really give you a good defense AND you run the risk of constant OC turnover and just hiring poor OCs in general.

Buffalo and LAC have wildly failed their quarterbacks, in this regard.

Your spinning your wheels imo.
Whoever it is, it will be the 5th playcaller/OC who wont be able to improve this QB to a state of playoff level performance competence.

Sometimes ya gotta face the facts that not only is the GM the common denominator in all this failure but also the guy who touches every offensive snap the last 9 years.

Short version response...
It doesn't matter as long as the same QB stays.
