3-4 would definitely benefit guys like Micah and Sam Williams. But would we overhaul the defensive scheme and philosophy just for micah???
Why not? Don't you think coaches like Belichick and Flores would insist on it. The 4-3 scheme will small LB's and the best pass rusher in the league getting beaten up by Tackles has been a complete failure.

Going with Garrett doesn't mean going with offense, it means going with ineptitude...
Dumbest thing Ive read on this forum, and thats really saying something. Garrett is long gone, get over whining and crying over him you big baby - move on, LOL

Garrett is “long gone”, but he is one of two people any Cowboys’ head coaching candidate is going to call before considering the position. McCarthy, obviously, is the other. Saints, Eagles, Jaguars, Jets, probably Bills and NYG, and maybe Bengals and Raiders, will be in the market for new head coaches. Top candidates are going to have choices. They and their representation will investigate, thoroughly, each opportunity available to them.

Garrett and McCarthy may well play a role in who is the next Cowboys head coach.

Whens the last time Jerry hired a first time head coach that wasnt already on staff from the previous regime? I'll wait......

But for just sh*ts and giggles, id support your idea for a coaching staff.. My first choice would be Ben Johnson.

I like the idea of the HC being a defensive coach. Your 60 million dollar QB shouldn't need the extra help if you have a good creative OC not tied to or worried about using players based on their price tag.

That's my thought on that. We already have a good QB. Between him and a good OC who can design good plays and focus on the run, that should be all the coaching we need on offense. Our defence needs more help. Besides, Quinn is a defencive coach, and I think a lot of us at one point wouldn't have minded him. So, why not a Flores or a Glenn who can work with a top DC like Saleh to get this defence to play better?

But Rusty if don’t change GMs, none of this can happen. He drafts players to market them.

I knows and he's going to do it even if we go 3-14 for the next decade. I understand winning isn't a priority to him. It hurts to know, but I understand that.

I would prefer a young, progressive offensive coach with philosophies and schemes that aren't archaic to be coaching and calling plays for Dak.

Whomever that may be. He doesn't have the talent to overcome fraud coaching like some QBs like Josh Allen do.

Don't forget Dak has a say in what plays get used. A good OC, QB coach and the guy you just paid 60 million a year should be enough to come up with a plan. IMHO defenses are harder and one the cowboys do not focus many top resources on.

I know, and that's why I'm so angry at him is that he doesn't try.
To be fair, GM is only a part time gig for Jerry, he has other businesses and financial opportunities to attend to. He has boxing, MMA, and other assorted events to negotiate. He just helped negotiate a deal to bring IndyCar Grand Prix Racing to Jerry World. That doesn't even count his non Cowboys or Jerry World adjacent business interests.

Well, exactly, so, a good OC and QB coach should be enough coaching for the offense. If we're paying the QB that much, then we shouldn't need an offensive minded HC while he's here. Especially if we have Dak here for 3-4 more years, why not get someone in that time span that can focus on the defence. Then, when we go for the next QB, get an offensive coach.
