Let say upfront that I have no problem trading down.
I am actually ok with the 3 main scenarios. 1. Moving up to get Peterson. 2. Staying put and taking say T.Smith. 3. Trading down to get extra picks.
I actually like all three scenarios because I like the idea of getting a game changing type guy in Peterson and I imagine Jerry does not just like his ability but also knows he is the type of guy that will create a lot of buzz.
I like the idea of saying, we are staying put and taking the best guy on our board and if they feel someone like T.Smith is the best guy, that also fits a need.
Of course the trade down can be a good move if they still get quality players. They could get two birds with one stone if they get a DE they like and a OT they like by moving back into the first.
Now with that said, the reason I say my luck says we are trading down.
I live in the Eastern Time Zone. This is going to be on a weeknight, I have to work the next day.
Knowing my luck I will be there watching the whole thing and dallas will trade down and take the guy they want, but I also will have the feeling they will trade back into the first so I will have to stay up the whole time.
Also with a bunch of trades, the picks seem to go slower as a team will use their whole amount of time on the phone before announcing the trade and then sometimes the next team takes a bit of time to announce the pick (not all the time).
So I expect to be up late that night, then of course discussing the picks on the board for some time and so I will be up really late, have to get up early to go to work and will be sleepy all day.
So again, my luck says that Dallas will trade down, then trade back up for a second first round pick.
