My meaningless thoughts on the game...

You'd think that guys like Jim Johnson and Greg Williams would have the trophy cases stuffed with Super Bowl trophies with all the sacks and pressure their D's get.

Williams' defenses haven't garned a lot of sacks of the years and they haven't hit the magic number for sacks in a season in quite some time (40). Johnson's defenses has. And while he hasn't won a Super Bowl, you cannot deny the Eagles have had a superb winning percentage with him as the D-Coordinator.

[Billy Bullocks]

- Julius Jones is by far and away our offensive MVP this season.

- While I think Julius runs much better out on the perimeter, he doesn't seem to do particularly well on stretch running plays. The best running plays for him seem to be off tackle runs.

- My lord....SHOTGUN FORMATION!

- Better blitz pickup this week.

- Bledsoe is still an issue. He made about 5 terrible throws when he had time and open receivers.

- I hate to sound like one of those guys who says you should run the ball one week, then say you need to pass the ball the next week. But it was getting really AGGRAVATING to see them continually run the ball on first down.

- Did we blitz once today?

- I get a little worried when I see the defense come away with no sacks. It reminds me of too many of the past seasons where we start sacking the QB early on in the year, then we can't get any sacks as the season progresses.

- Washington

- Crappy 1st half and really boring football. But they got back on track in the second half. Bledsoe's play still scares me as he's too inaccurate on throws he has no reason to miss on. But if they can beat the G-Men next week and say Owens has a big game, we'll be 4-2 overall, 2-1 in the division and *maybe* some of this Owens mess will go away.

I agree. Bledsoe looks rattled this year, and he seems paranoid about pressure, making it seem there when its not.

I was yelling at the TV too. Running every single 1st down...

16/21 1st down plays were runs. Gotta take into account some of them are later in the game when we blead the clock, but still.

I hope it's a tactic used against a worse team to throw off NY an better teams in game planning.

With our tendancy to run on 1st down, it would be nice to open up with some shots downfield every once in a while. Keep em off guard.

The series that really boiled my blood was after the turnover when it was 17-6 (I think that's when it was) and they ran the ball to Barber twice, threw a pass then went for it on fourth down, made it and followed up with a TD.

It was almost like they were starting to go into a shell, trying to protect the lead.

Go for the kill shot.

Yes, they went for it on fourth down, but that seemed to be more of a case of being in no man's land of a 50+ yard field goal vs. fourth and inches.
