My mock V.1 4 Rds

They can basically tear that contract up and make a new one. The only part of Romos salary next yr that is not changeable is his SB and the new team doesnt have to worry about that.
How does that relate to our cap hit ?
Say some team trades for him, and asks him to do a new contract. Our cap hit right now is $ 24 million, does that get wiped off the books, apart from the
SB ?
I thought I saw we would only save the difference between the $ 16 million salary and the $ 24 million cap hit.

Basically dallas saves 5.1mill by releasing Romo outright or trading him.

Dallas caohit for romo in 2017 is 24.7. He still has 19.6mil in SB and restructured money thats guranteed. So the difference is 5.1mil that Dallas saves in 2017 by releasing him or trading him.

You had me at trade Romo for Rd 1&3 picks

Jerry Jones - restructure ROMO contract as a backup to age 40, 4 years and we have the backup position locked down for the next 4 years and 4 Lombardi's. Just do it.

Great DEFENSE wins championships. .

Hmm not sure this is true anymore....Seattle, Minnesota, Denver, KC, and Houston aren't still playing and NE, GB, Pitt, and Atl are remaining, not one has a good defense but all have great QBs or at least a good QB playing great.
I think the new mantra should go.... "with a few very rare exceptions, great QBs win championships."
