The way I see it we've got 9 picks plus 2 comps coming our way, I know Jerry won't keep all of those picks but I'm not Jerry and I'm not doing any trading.
2. Rashad Johnson S Alabama- A playmaker and a leader in the secondary. He should allow Hamlin to move to SS where he can be more effective too.
3. Herman Johnson OL LSU- The biggest OL in the entire draft (probably the biggest player overall). He is a mauler inside at G, but he can also play T. His weight (listed as high as 386, though he is also listed as low as 340's) will probably cause him to fall. Dallas is the perfect place for him though, imagine him being mentored by BIGG and Gurode.
4a. Jasper Brinkley LB South Carolina- This guy is a rock in the middle of the defense. He's big enough to fight through blocks and he fills the gaps very well. He's a heck of an athlete though too and he flows from sideline to sideline very well.
4b. Ron Brace DT Boston College- Maybe the best run stuffing DT in the draft. Reminds me alot of Casey Hampton in that he's be a big strong guy with a wide body. You won't hear either one of their names called a whole lot during the game, but they just make everybody around them better.
5a. Clinton McDonald DE Memphis- At 6'2" 284 he's a bit smaller than our current DEs, but I think he can be very good once he adds a bit of weight. His projected 4.7 40 time really caught my eye, and through 9 games this year he has 7 sacks, 7.5 TFL, and a FF.
5b. Garrett Reynolds OL North Carolina- He's got NFL bloodlines, he's got a ton of experience, and he's versatile. Normally plays RT for UNC, but he has also played some RG.
5c (comp). Connor Barwin DE/LB Cincinnati- He's played TE, DE, and he's been a special teams ace for the Bearcats. I think his size and speed fit well at ILB for us. So far this year he's got 10 sacks, 13.5 TFL, 7 breakups, 6 QBHs, and 3 blocked kicks.
6a. Wopamo Osaisai CB Stanford- He was supposed to be an elite prospect coming into this year, but he's on a bad team and he has underperformed so he dropped way down. Even though he's got plenty of experience, he's still more of a track star playing football. Could be another late round steal for us if he's still here.
6b (comp). Sammie Lee Hill DT Stillman- He is relatively unheard of, and his level of competition will make it hard for him to be drafted very high. He reportedly weighs in excess of 320lbs, and he managed to rack up 7.5 sacks, 15.5 TFL, and 8 QBHs.
7a. Chase Daniel QB Missouri- If he is still on the board at this point of the draft I think we have to take him. He might not ever be a starter, but he reminds me of Romo alot and I think he would be a perfect backup.
7b. Troy Nolan S Arizona St- He's only been playing at Arizona St for 2 years, but in those 2 years he's racked up 10 INTs and 13 PBUs.
