Im going to say this yrs cap will be 145mil and could be higher. Cap adjusted will be 148.21

Right now Dallas would be 12,488,384 under the cap.

Restructure Tyron Smith the cap goes up to 20,723,584
Brandon Carr takes a pay cut of 6mil on his base salary to stay in Dallas he will still make over 6mil but frees up 6 mil against the cap and the cap goes to 26,723,584
Melton is released and cap goes to 35,223,834
Barry Church earn a 1mil in playing time in 2014 so cap goes down to 34,223,834
Doug Free's prorated bonus money charges Dallas' cap on the voided deal cap goes down to 33,263,834
Brandon Weedon cut 33,923,834
Devonte Holloman retirment 34,482,779

The Key here is to get Carr to take a paycut this yr. IMO that 6mil he would make would be higher then what he would make in FA. But he could pocket 12mil if he plays hardball and forces Dallas hand to cut him as a june cut. I dont think he will tho.

So 34,482,779 mil under the cap thats without restructuring Romo by the way. Restructuring Tyron is going to happen with the amount of yrs on his deal. He will be a Cowboy for life.

Resigning players.
Dez Bryant will get paid big. But can Dallas keep his first yr cap charge low with a low base salary and go up from there based on the amount of cap space Dallas will have in 2016 which right now is sitting at 50mil under the cap and pretty much the core of the team would be locked up to deals and rookie deals. So Dallas is sitting real good for years to come.
Dez deal 7 years 90mil 20mil signing bonus and im sure there will be some more guaranteed money in there to make it work for Dez. So 12.85 mil a yr avg. Think they can do a 4mil base and 4mil prorated on his deal yr 1. Cap goes down to 26,482,779 under the cap.

Resign Doug Free as he's the better fit IMO to the scheme Dallas runs.
4 yrs 20mil with 8mil signing bonus. In my thinking i would believe Dallas would add some fluff to the last 2 yrs. First yr salary of 3mil all guaranteed. cap 23,482,779

Resign Rolando McClain 4 yrs 16mil 5mil SB.
First yr salary of 2mil base and 1.25SB cap 20,232,779

Cowboys restructure 10mil of Romos Salary cap climbs to 30,232,779

Resign Justin Durant 1 yr 1.50mil cap 28,732,779
Resign Tyler Clutts 1 yr 610k cap 28,122779
Resign CJ Spillman 1 yr 610k cap 25,102,779
Resign Ron Leary 4 yrs 14mil 6mil SB
First yr salary 3mil cap 22,102,779
Resign Cole Beasley 4 yrs 8mil 2mil SB
First yr 1mil cap 21,102,779
Resign Darrion Weems 610k cap 20,502,779
Resign Cam Lawrence 1 yr 610k 19,892,779
Resign Dwayne Harris 1 yr 1mil 18,892,779
Resign Anthony Spencer 2 yrs 5mil all guaranteed
16,392,779

So in my scenario Dallas would have 16,392,779 to sign FAs and Draft picks.

Ndamukong Suh DT(DET) 7yrs 80mil 25mil SB
First yr 2mil Base 5mil SB cap 9,392,779
Shaun Hill QB(STL) 1 yr 1.5mil cap 7,892,779

2015 Draft

RD1 Owamagbe Odighizuwa DE UCLA

Good job overall...just a few quick nit picks

I don't want Suh personally though (not that i'd complain if we did). I just feel it would be a total circus with him in Dallas and I don't want that. I also feel we would be a little weaker at DE than I'd like. Spencer isn't much at this point and I don't see another true WDE on the roster besides D Law. Give me Stephen Pea + Brandon Graham for more than likely less than what you gave Suh.

The draft is actually really great...only small complaint is the 2nd round. I like Gunter, but I'm hoping there is a better CB available in the 2nd. Where do you compare Gunter to guys like D'juon Smith, Kevin Johnson and Alex Carter?

Have O.O compete with Spencer. But spencer was almost unblockable towards the end of 2014. Teams just held him and took the penalty instead of allowing the sack.

i like Alex Carter but i dont think he will last til the 60pick

How can Carr take a 6M pay cut and still make 6M. His base salary is scheduled to be 8M.

Leary is a ERFA. They can sign him for about 585K.

You're going to guarantee Anthony Spencer 5M up front? That would be an unnecessary risk. I would want to see how he looks in training camp. The knee either got better or worse after playing this year.

I'll be surprised if Suh signs a contracts for 11.4M per year. He is already making 12.5M per.

I'll bet money that a 3rd round rookie is not starting at Safety unless Church or Wilcox get injured.

I like so much of what you did there LM - EXCEPT for the big elephant in the room - starting RB. I just don't trust Randle to step in for Murray. I honestly would trust David Cobb as a rookie RB more than Randle. He is a complete back right now (can even pass block).

Look at his prorated SB too. use ur brain dude. it actually 6.717 as of right now he has a 8mil base and 4.717 prorated SB. Take a paycut of 6 mil and you leave 2mil of base salary.

Nobody trusted Murray to stay healthy until he was on the field and stayed healthy. Dallas isnt going to know about Randle until they let him run the ball. Thats why you bring in a rookie RB and Williams.

I think Randle and Cobb would be good enough for this offense to not skip a beat.

Nice job overall. I just can't see them going all in on Suh. He's going to have a strong preference to play for Dallas IF this does happen. Otherwise there will be too many interested teams which will surely escalate his contract demands and out of our range.

You could be right - Cobb looks really good in the Senior Bowl right now. I see some Eddie Lacy in him (big, strong, fast enough with more than enough "wiggle" to boot).

somebody is going to give Suh a 100 million deal.My preference is getting a DE in FA and also adding a mid tier DT to play 1 tech, this really opens up the draft to us..

Don't sure why your not signing Bruce Carter. Was the best LB on the team thus season

He has already been paid the prorated bonus money. Prorated is just an accounting term for the team and the cap. It has no impact on Carr. He already has that money. If his base salary is 2M then he is making 2M unless there a new bonus.

Crawford and Suh rushing from the closest area from the QB would make things easier. QBs seem to struggle more when he rush is coming from up the middle.

You think Randle is a starter? I don't think he is anywhere close. Reminds me of Felix. Not physical enough. Will put you in a ton of 2nd and 13's and hit a homerun every now and then.

With the cap room you are saying we will have we could easily give Murray a reasonable deal without breaking the bank.

Suh improves the defense some but overall, I don't feel your next year team is better than this year's team.

he's not anywhere close? How would you know? How would anybody know at this point? All you say Dallas could give Murray a reasonable deal, but he doesnt want a reasonable deal. He wants a big deal. Have you not listened to what has come out of the Joneses mouths?

Maybe there is a reason why Murray got 400 plus carries and Randle got 50. Maybe the coaches know about Randle by seeing him in practice.
