My Offseason

I don’t think it’ll be them but I agree that someone will.

I’m sort of hoping they can sign Pollard for like 3/25 (which is more like a 2/15 guaranteed) and use the tag on Wilson.

I’m not ready to lose him, but not sure if a long term deal is the right thing to do. The number is a little high though, but that’s the rub.
Too many are up for contract, and the Dak one is going to keep them from keeping guys like Wilson.

Your 1st guy is my guy right now as well. Only negative I’ve heard, and have seen after specifically looking for it, is that he doesn’t demonstrate great movement skills in space. Could be something he hasn’t been asked to do a lot of though.

Mingo has some great tape and I love his frame. Could clearly see a guy like this opposite Lamb. Like this call.

Couple years ago, I would have been on-board with Sewell, but warts have been beginning to show. I say this respectfully and as an avid Duck fan who has watched all of Noah’s games at least once. Noah can be a downhill truck but laterally he is challenged and will be a liability in coverage. He hasn’t shown improvement in play diagnosis as well. Too many times this year we (Duck fans) have let out, “Ahh, damm*t Noah.” At one time he was a potential first-half of round one selection and maybe you have him slotted correctly in the 3rd. I’m just too familiar with his game to want him.

I like the balance of your draft with the exception of not knowing the cat you have listed in round 7. But, given the credibility of your list, I'm gonna make myself familiar with him.

Kancey’s name is the name that “draft experts” are tossing around as this year’s “Hey, take a look at this guy.” I fear someone will snag him prior to Round 5.

Kudos to you for putting this together! It’s so easy to question a list that someone has put together but d*mn hard to generate a realistic one from scratch.

I am likely not releasing Lewis. He's a solid vet CB on a very friendly deal. 4M for a proven CB starter is a bargain. If he is CB4 you are in great shape and he will play lots of snaps. BUT I keep that option open in camp if he gets beat out.

I don't see Tyron coming back. He's had a long career and made a lot of money and lost his job to a kid. But perhaps he wants to hang in there one more season and chase a title.
The difference between Zeke and Tyron is Zeke plays through injury while Tyron sits. And Zeke has been surpassed by a guy that will require major salary commitment while Tyron's spot went to a rookie.
I'm keeping Zeke on a reduced salary if he agrees and letting Tyron go to claim all that cap space. If Tyron once released wants to come on an incentive laden deal I am in on that.

Of re-signs I'm in for all but Pollard and Gifford.
Gifford has zero LB utility to me and I can cover ST more cheaply.
Pollard needs to get his best NFL contract right now and I am not paying 10M to franchise him.
He was sooo good this year but I gotta let him walk and recoup an R4 for him.

Draft is a crap shoot this early but I like this one.
He's one of my favorite players since he was drafted, but coming off a bad injury and him not being a prototype cb for Quinn idk. That and the coming along of Muku. Then Bland. I think he's gone

If you sign steele then tyron needs to go. There are 2 other backup OT on the roster to fill in and i'd rather have the cap space then tyron get hurt again if we get a decent deal done with steele.

DRAFT

ROUND1
O'Cyrus Torrence G Florida
Mauler type of guy Solari should fall in love with. He gives you something big McGovern could never do and that's handling them power 1Ts.

ROUND2
Jonathan Mingo WR Ole Miss
Guy is a monster vs DBs. Reminds me of Deebo with a little less speed.

ROUND3
Noah Sewell LB Oregon
Freelance a little too much. More athletic than Vander but needs to learn but the instincts needs to be developed, kinda like Clark. Most likely starter in 2024

ROUND4
Eric Gray RB Oklahoma
Reminds me of alot more talented Rico Dowidle. If they can get Gray in RD4 this is a steal

ROUND5
Trey Dean III S Florida
Did alot of the same things the Cowboys asked Wilson to do.

ROUND5 COMP
Calijah Kancey DL Pitt

ROUND5 COMP
Jake Haener QB Fresno State

Nice draft. Is Mingo projected to last that long?

Can’t see Crosby leaving GB. I think they will use a late pick on a K.

Payne is everyone’s dream, and exactly what we need, but they just aren’t going to as much as call the agent. And that’s the kind of contract you can’t even give them a hard time for passing on….that being IF they decide to spread that money around, not pocket it for later for guys that haven’t won anything.

I think you’ll see Brown return on the cheap before a non family member CB is brought in. There’s a lot of corners projected in the 26 range, and what Im expecting them to do there. They aren’t bailing on Joseph and Wright just yet either.

Gotta say it again…nice draft. That’s one where you probably can actually count on the rookies to make an instant impact.

Solari and apparently the new coach are great teachers.

I think they'd move Mingo outside and Lamb to slot on 3wide and 4 wide. You can't cover Lamb in the slot.

Kancy I chose because he just looks like a superior athlete type this team loves to draft. But it isn't rutgers and uconn he'll be playing against in the nfl.

Steele tore his acl and mcl in December. They will be lucky if he's back before December

Lol most? You picked a si writer that nobody has heard of. The guy is barely 6ft 280 DT you really think your nobody writer is right? You said majority but I don't see no majority. Earliest I've seen him mentioned is the 3rd. If he was 3 inches taller and 15-20lbs heavier he'd be a 1st round pick
He is estimated to be just over 6' and about 280.

Aaron Donald was under 6-1 and weighed 285.

He is projected as gone a lot and can see why on one hand but on the other I think l we win at least 1 more game had he been healthy all year.
At 4M with no future money owed I at least bring him to camp to compete.
History says we need 4/5 CBs who can actually play.

I really like Muku as well but think he'd be hunted in match ups by good coaches if stuck playing much true slot.
Muku behind Kearse makes a ton of sense to me.

Aaron Donald weight 269 going into his final collegiate season.
Whatever juice cocktail (pun intedned) he took we should immediately put all DT on, lol.

No he wont, Washington said last offseason they probably couldn't sign him after re-signing Allen, and with sweat and young coming up next yr and the following
I really hope you are correct !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would LLLOOVVEEE to see him here!!!

I think they move Muku outside and bland to slot when they go Nickel and dime. That's basically what they did with them this yr.

I think he will be around their rd2 pick when he runs. His 40 is going to be avg, and I can see him dropping some balls. He likes to start running before he has the ball. I think Dallas rd2 pick is perfect spot for him
