everyone telling the kid to be a Chiefs fan. But the Chiefs will suck in 6 or 7 years and he could be doomed to a lifetime of failing Chiefs teams. Didnt many of us jump on the Boys bandwagon when they were winning and thats how we got where we are now? I had 25 years of great Cowboy teams. Doubt the Chiefs do that. Times are different.

Teach your kids about the stock market, that will be helpful to them for their lifetimes.

Just a dreadful week. Cooper Rush stunk it up and we got blown out by the dirty birds. I’m beat down and have realized this season is over. After the game my son asked me how come our team is never competitive this season and also asked me if he will ever get to see a superbowl winning team. He also told me that he got made fun of at school the other day for wearing a Cowboys jersey to school!

What do I tell my son at this point?!?
So, tell him it’s the nature of sports, it’s not that serious

I’m not the one who posted on social media on how I bring them up, that’s a cry for help. What are you gonna do when the team is winning that you sent them to start losing, going to tell them go find another one. Where is the loyalty. oh screw that just go find a winner
shutup and stop being a weirdo.

The critical mistake Jerry made this year was humiliating the fanbase. I don't really think he understands the damage he did. After the GB loss, he should have cleaned house and admitted publicly that it was a reset year.

Instead he tried to make fools of his own fanbase with his "all in" comments.

IMO this is going to do more damage to the Cowboys brand than the 29 years of no NFC championship games. People are embarrassed to be Cowboy fans right now. If there was a new coach and a young core struggling to find its way, expectations would be tempered and people wouldn't be getting mocked for being fools by opposing fans.

Aren't you supposed to be some modern day Randy Marsh?

Just get drunk and fight their dads at little league games

I am embarrassed being a Cowboys fan.
After 49 years of standing up for them, can't do it anymore.
It's such a dumpster fire of an organization now.
Pretty sad.

If it were my child .
I would remind him you have to take the good with the bad.
I’ve been a die hard fan for 48 years.
Watched Super Bowl loses twice to Steelers.
Watched Danny white lead them to nfc championship games to come up short.
Seen them fall from grace to bottom of league and Jerry purchase the team.
Back to the top again with 3superbowl wins.
Watch them waste Tony ROMO talent .
Now to modern day disaster of dak and company.
All that said you don’t give up your team.
That just makes you a quitter!!
That’s life ! Good bad and ugly!

I have come to tell my 9 year old son this:

He began asky why do we cheer a loosing team, thus i TOLD HIM

"this is a mediocre team" If you dont want to cheer this mediocre team it is yoru choice. But once you choose a team, you stick to it

Your a father. A father should sacrifice his life for his son.

You need to set your son free.

Before it's too late (I'm assuming he's under 18....if not, it's too late for you AND your legacy/family tree)

Give him a Chiefs jersey for Christmas

Set him free.

Give him hope. Give him a life

Free him from The Jones.
Good advice-- better yet, Become a Green Bay Packer fan so you never have to worry about ANY owner.

You sound like you could use a little perspective. It's a stupid football team. Emphasis on STUPID

Tell your son loyalty is unequivocal and without exception. Otherwise it is not loyalty. Any person that can’t stick with a football team through thick and thin won’t stick to anything.

When an owner doesn't care about winning then why should the fans. I don't begrudge any fan from moving on. I wish I could but after 50 years I'm in it till the end. My only joy now is watching our fearless leader getting embarrassed with regularity.

Really interesting thread. Be embarrassed when u look in the mirror and u r 50 pounds overweight, be embarrassed when u get slapped down at work because your ideas suck, be embarrassed when your wife comes home and tells you that she has been sleeping with your best friend for the past 5 years. Be embarrassed because the football team that u follow is having a bad season?! That I find truly laughable, but as they say the world is made up of all types And we need to be kind to all. If this is the worse thing that will ever happen in your lives then you will have had pretty dam good lives! Cheer up, hold your head high, shoulders back And walk proud always! Thx…

Lol. Don't get mad at me for not parenting.

You let your kid go out and get mocked. Get a grip.
