My Random Thoughts vs The Giants

The team is so beat up. Scrubs on the 2nd level and secondary are killing this defense. There’s moments where they show no heart.

I can’t believe Earl Thomas isn’t even getting a look.

Pretty obvious why he is not getting a look. He's a cancer, radioactive. The Ravens players wanted him gone and if you believe the reports, the Texans players didn't want him signed.

Agreed on Nolan. I have absolutely 0 clue what he is trying to do not only in the run game but agains the pass. It's like they leave a zone uncovered on every play. Some of that is probably on the players and their communication, but the wide open bodies so consistently - since week one - 5-9 yards down the field is a huge problem.

Romo was being diplomatic yesterday but you could tell he wanted to rant about the schemes. And as you said, other times, there is clear confusion at times on the field, again, another criticism of Nolan's time in Atlanta.

I have zero doubts if they fired Nolan today and made Edwards the DC, the defense would improve (granted, not be great by any stretch).

First off we have to talk about Dak Prescotts injury.

Many of you know that i'm a never pay Dak guy but I felt so bad for him as it was all happening. Dak is a hard worker and he's the leader of this team. He's our guy. Watching that emotion come out of him and how everyone responded was a truly emotional moment.

It was like all the business crap and personal agendas were thrown out the window for a moment. I'm proud of what Dak has done as a 4th round pick for my team. He's a tough dude.

With that said...

I'm ready to see how this Andy Dalton experiment plays itself out.. Will we see a huge drop off at the position?

Some things i'm looking for with Dalton..

1. Does Dalton start games better than Dak? The Cowboys with Dak just always seem to start out slow and these chaotic games always seem to happen because of it.

2. Does the passing game improve? I know you box score nerds have your numbers ready but I want to see if we actually improve our passing game with the ability to attack the entire field. Will back shoulder throws make a return? Do WR's get opportunities to make plays on the ball consistently like Gallup did yesterday when a safety pushes up?

3. Will Amari Cooper stop disappearing on the road?

I just really think that if we can give Dalton decent protection that Dallas shouldn't change their expectations as a team because I don't think they are going to see a huge drop off at the QB position.

Dalton can get Dak like results. We were a bad team with Dak so really we have nowhere to go but up.

Defense:

They are trash.. I don't know what Nolan is doing. When we got some end to end angles we just I could see how the defense was aligned and the gaps that were there and the Giants just kept running into the gaps. It was so simple.

Dontari Poe might be the worst player in the NFL. He needs to be cut today.

Leighton Vander Esch is desperately needed.

Any defender that is celebrating on routine plays after giving up 30+ points is just a moron. I continuously see these guys like Jaylon making routine plays and you would think they won the Superbowl.

Conclusion:

That's really all there is to talk about regarding this game. I hate that we will be a bad team that is also most likely going to be mediocre and not get a premium pick but it is what it is.

Let's see what the Dalton QB experiment looks like and if we are stupid for giving Dak all the money he wants just because we supposedly have to...

I agree with all that you say.

DAK is apparently a great guy and very much loved/cared for in the organizacion, So sad that happened to him. But I still stand frim. He is not an elite QB, he is not what we need and he is just an average QB.

He might have good leadership skills, the willingness, determination etc. but he does NOT have those "whatever you want to call them" traits or fine touches that make an ELITE QB.

I think Dalton is less mobile than DAK, and with this PUTRID OL and the GARBAGE defense, things will only get worse.

They need to bring in someone to play dt. I would think any young player who tries hard would be better than poe and hopefully woods will be able to step in and play a lot of snaps.

Thatll be the combo

Poe and Crawford

Woods and Gallimore to rotate

yea it has to be but it seems they could easily replace poe. He is really bad.

who knows maybe lve, lee, gregory and awuzie will help.

Rinse . Repeat.

Can we stop with that phrase? It was cute the first couple of times we saw it, but now it belongs in the same phrase trash bin as "At the end of the day", "basically" and others.

Geez, tired of it...

the offense will change, Zeke will become the feature guy again.
will moore do that and give zeke a chance to run early in games and help the defense. i just hope we do not see the rams gameplan and be to conservative.

To a small degree LVE will, the runners will continue to blast up the middle but hopefully LVE can hold the gain to 4 yards instead of 8.

Gregory to a small degree, seen too many of our DEs get oh so close to the quarterback, or can't quite catch them in the open field on scrambles, just a small amount of extra speed could mean the difference between a sack and a completed pass, or 15 yard quarterback scramble.

Otherwise Lee and Awuzie aren't any better than who's playing now...

Yes It was an emotional moment and Dak has done enough in my eyes to remain the QB here

Trash is to kind! This defense would have a hard time stopping a team of old grannies!! LOL

I will be surprised if we don't see a pretty serious drop off from Dak to Dalton.

The offense doesn't seem to have the quitter mentality of the defense so if they continue to play hard I think they'll be fine. AD can get the ball to the playmakers which keeps them happy & engaged.

Honestly, i think Dak & Dalton are very similar. There are some things that Dak does better and there are some things Dalton does better. Overall it about equals out.

Ultimately, i think this team is doomed no matter who is under center. But that's a different subject.

This team has game-planned and played with an unearned arrogance that has contributed to these stupid mistakes and turn-overs out of the gate each week. That stubborn stupidity is now completely gone with Prescott out for the season. I expect a much different team on the field next week. It honestly may not be an improvement on the record, but it will at least look like a team that starts each week with a sense of urgency. In case it isn't apparent, this a scathing indictment on this coaching staff for allowing a team that has not accomplished a thing into waltzing onto the field each week this season like they were crowned champs. McCarthy and this staff is a total downgrade over Jason Garrett to this point.

Dalton will be fine. Those two throws from Dalton to Gallup were complete money yesterday.

Or been there, done that.

I want to punch a ******** when that phrase vomits out of someone’s mouth.

Zeke ran 22 times in the Rams game, Dallas lost by 3.

Zeke ran 14 and 12 times in the Seattle and Cleveland games, lost by 7 and 11.

Zeke ran 19 times in the Giants game, a win.

Not saying run Zeke 25 times a game, at least not every game, but running Zeke 20 or more times a game is still a good game plan, MOST teams do better with a balanced attack, if you have a back like Zeke, who can wear down a defense, not using him 20 times a game is not the way to go....

this had to be what Dungy meant by “blessing in disguise”. Yesterday we definitely were more balanced even before Dak’s injury. Now we absolutely have to be.

I'm glad I don't care enough to watch All 22's anymore. For those of you who still do it I tip my cap.

It's hard watching these all knowing professional football coaches be such morons.

I mean NYG was just running into Gaps that the Cowboys Dline was creating by their alignment lol.
Part of it is gaps, but mostly, they are getting outmanned.

I didn't watch the NYG game as closely yet, but all day against Cleveland it was 5 blockers against 4 defenders. It doesn't matter who your personnel is when you have that.
