This season I dont expect anything. Dallas is going into this season with way more question marks than last season. When I look at the schedule i really cant see how dallas gets 8 wins.

People are expecting way too much out of the draft for this year. And then they'll declare it a huge failure when in fact it might be just a normal solid draft that will do us well in a couple of years.

This is what rebuilding looks like. Except for the part where you're keeping your 51-year-old quarterback.

Maybe Jerral is right, rebuilding my not be the word we need to describe what has to be done in Dallas to have a chance at something...anything!

Maybe that word is revamp, though the youth movement and the Draft. Of course people can't expect meere Rookies to match Ware and Hatcher, ironically some of the same people spout that building through the Draft is the only way.

Expectations are normally the root of suffering.
The defense almost have to be better just running newbie's through training camp.
If the Dline is better the secondary will improve.
Then there's the draft and F.A. Fredericks has another year of maturing.
I think they'll play better.Does that results in more wins?

No. The defense will be much improved if we only get the guys healthy. Bring in more talent and it will be even better.

I dont get this "defense will be improved" line of thought. We lost 52% of our sacks. Where is the pass rush? Are you counting on the draft pick having a ROY type season? Melton is a nice player, but he is no pass rusher. It could actually be WORSE. Ware was hobbled but teams still had to prepare for him.

As it stands now......low expectations but FA plus draft can change this, and a healthy D can make all the difference.

Are you a product of the Farmer's Branch public school system?

Sorry for the off topic post.

Yes. In FB we like to think of education as a lifelonk experience. We are learning and growing ever day. I appreciate your comment, TwoDeep.

No doubtaboutit. The defense is in full rebuilding mode.but put an asterik after the word "rebuilding." We are using peeps like Melton as stop-gap. But stop-gap to what? The draft? What we git next year?
We won't stop many offenses that's for sure.
the only hope is we develop a ground game that will take the ball away from the opposing offenses. then we settle in for a year of ball-control season, eating lots of protein and going to the mattress, as they say in Sicily and New Yawk.
It wont be pretty. The only pretty thing will be to watch Romo drive his family in a rolls royce while the rest of us ride our jitneys.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I don't see why this team can't rebuild the D line in one offseason. I disagree with Melton not being a pass rusher. Yes he has to prove himself healthy, but was among the best inside rushers in 2012. I can't expect a miracle draft pick to save us this year, but give me Donald rd1 Crichton/Martin Rd2 I think we're in business. No superstars, but you have a solid group, with respectable depth if you keep them healthy.

I don't recall when I, a proud son of the hills of Farmers Branch, will half the luxery of just watching the Cowboys this season and seeing how the team really executes.

And that might make for a season of chill.

Our offense might actually take a step back if Romo plays like he is shielding hisself from hits and is more judicous with his throws. One big problem might be that Witten continues to get lots of attention from Romo and the new WR Williams gets his share. Then Dez might feel . . . not fully utilized.

And face it: the defense is being rebuilt with guys who if on other teams might not make the team. And take it from me: the secondary will not improve but get worse because our D line will make it tougher on corners and safeties.

Do anybody else feels this way? Will we be reduced this season to observers of technique and personnel and not cheerleaders? Please respond because I half got to know.
Kinda have the same feeling. The defense could possibly be any worse. So that's something.

I can't ever give up....I will be excited for EVERY game that they play...I feel the team has playoff potential until the moment that they are eliminated, whether that be in week 10 or in the NFC Championship game...the minute they are eliminated, I am looking forward to free agency and the draft to get started again....

never surrender, never say die, never give up

To say you have no expectations is horrible for you what's they point in watching weekI and week out and posting on here during the off season. I don't know if we will make the playoffs but I want to see improvement. Last year I had "expectations" in a way but I wanted to see what this team would do.

But in the pre season I saw a fire in the defense and the everyone went down. If nothing else happens I hope they can keep and build upon that. It maybe hard to see this team doing anything but remember the other teams in the division dictate our playoffs hopes as well. Any given Sunday

So long as Jerry is the GM they will not win anything important. I thought we got used to that years ago?

Why are you are? I'm not tryna be funny, but like one of the mods said in the sticky why come here and post in the off season of a team that you seem to dislike?
