Id rather have a guy who can just take the ball away then be a big hitter. Because a hitting safety is alot more likely to get you a flag with that hit with todays rules. I would pick Collins or Berry over Chancellor anyday

Yeah usually you can't have both it is one or the other. Reed was more of a ballhawk which I think is in line with our needs. Too bad they don't grow that guy on trees...LOL
 
I hate when people say things that have no foundation in reality. Woodson started in his second year and set a franchise record for tackles for a DB.
There are hundreds of safeties out there that are great tacklers it's the coverage part of the position at the NFL level that takes time.
It's not always the fact that he makes a tackle it's where the tackle is made how soon does he recognize the play.
 
If you look at the tape from the last game it was the 9 route with safeties out of position that caused the big splash plays. I'm concerned too.

Of course that's not what this is about. This is about the statement that it took "three years" for Woodson to stand out, which is clearly false.
