Id take Calvin Ridley in RD1.
Wouldn’t the team be better off with Ridley on 1 side and Dez on the other?

Not seeing the advantage of cutting Dez even if you want Ridley.

Replacing Dez with Ridley and ignoring your defense doesn’t seem like strengthening your team. If you ignore your defense then you are better off with Ridley and Dez.

Irving is a starter.

I rewatched all of Browns snaps. He was not terrible.

Dak started forcing after they got down and had not scored any TDs.

Dez sucks and Witten is old. Nothing the QB can do about that. They might as well give Brown more snaps. He can't be any worse than Dez.
Enjoy your posts and appreciate your incite but Dak this entire year has not been the same. His passes are wobbly, inconsistent be it to high or to low, forces everything to Dez, and clearly can not make the right read with both safeties out of the box playing the pass. He is nothing more than Dilfer, Smith, Manning(Peyton) ....who needs a supporting cast to excel. Just my opinion.....

Getting rid of Dez improves the team. You are just in denial about it. Witten needs to go too.

I wouldn't be opposed to paying them near the veteran minimum and play them in spots, but that's about it. The problem is our coaches won't do that, so they have to go.

Brown - Switzer - Rico - Bease on the field should be our starting line

Brown runs a pretty good game on routes, catches everything & blocks
Rico is a frickin nightmare on all levels.... Only reason he's not playing is straight up #82
Switz can move off the line better than Bease & has Homerun potential

I literally don't understand our staff one bit

Witten may be old and past his prime but he’s not done. He has had to help out and block more since Smith went out. He hasn’t disappeared and he is the least of our worries.

Dez is a fine second receiver. He’s not a #1 who can dominate a game but he’s still a red zone threat.

The problems with this team lie on defense. Our linebacking core is wretched, especially without Lee.

The Tampa 2 is an outdated scheme that relies on opponents to make mistakes. Good teams don’t make mistakes and all the 2nd and 4’s are killers.

Yes the defense is a problem. But thinking Dez and Witten still are still great players is folly.!

Agreed. I hope Dez is released in the offseason.

He sure as heck isn't worth the $16.5 mil.

Yeah, Dez sucks.
No, he won't be released.
Jerry clings to "big names" no matter how old, his awful or how expensive. It can be said Jerry's heart is bigger than his brain.

at 16.5mil for 2018 hell no. Dez is/was a great talent. But he has never put in the work to be a great wr. He's lazy in the study dept. He doesnt now how to beat double teams or how to beat a elite CB in single coverage. Because he runs horrible routes. Its just time to let him go and move on.

You can’t actually explain why we are better off without Dez except to talk about his salary...half of which we pay even if he is cut. That tells me that you have an anti Dez agenda and don’t actually care if it’s better for the team or not.
Then you make up stuff that you have no real knowledge about..crap about him being lazy. You have no clue if he is lazy unless you are inside the organization. In fact Dak came out and talked about how much Dez worked this offseason. So any evidence says the opposite. Your bias and agenda are clear for all to see.

It’s as much folly as thinking we are better off creating a hole in our offense that we need to spend valuable resources on and ignoring the obvious weakness of this team...Defense..defense and more defense.

He is very accurate when rolling out.

He has been pressured in the pocket which is the primary cause of inaccurate passes.

He has had to start forcing passes because nobody is getting open. Dez and Witten can't get separation. Beasley gets doubled often because Dez is now easy to cover with 1 defender. TWill has limitations (Short passes get on him before he can react and he is now a deep ball type either. He is effective at mid-depth but Dak is not getting time to wait for those routes to develop). The scheme too often has only 1 receiver running a short route with all others running 10 yards plus. That limits the dump-off options when Dak gets pressure.

Give Dak a Mike Irvin and Wiiten in their prime and he'll look like an all-time great QB.

There is already a hole with Dez on the field. He sucks.

If he won't make the effort to learn how to run a route crisply and precisely he is lazy or stupid.

We're banged up, have our best player out for 6 games and have a turkey for a coach. No expectations here.
