If they're going to blow it up I have no issues with that route, but why not just come out and say so, why be so cryptic; and if they're going to be all in why drag their feet on freeing up cap space. There is still plenty of time to make FA moves, but this just seems weird.

The annual panic when we don't buy the big names in FA. LOL

8 starters leaving, cutting Gallup and already have big holes at DT and LB. That = 11 starters needed. This is not normal. At this point we usually have resigned some of our own free agents. We have signed a long snapper.

If we are tanking to rebuild. Why not do something with Dak? Just going to let him walk without compensation?
Dak bent the Jerry over the table and didnt use lube on the last negotiation...............got a no trade clause, a no tag clause, and high enough cap hits to scare any teams away from even asking.

Like Jane Slater said, Dak has all the leverage now...............the team cant do jack about it, only real threat the Cowboys have is to force Dak to play out the last year of his deal and that might be what is going on here.

Fat Mike and Dak look to be tied at the hip now, its either make a deep playoff run and earn your extensions or escort them to the door, thank them for their service, and call them an uber to drive them to the airport.

***One thing unexpected does seem to be happening, the Cowboys are gutting the roster to almost guarantee both MM and Dak have a bad year and dont make a deep playoff run, thus guaranteeing their departure***

If GM Jeruh was smart enough he would have sat down with Dak. Extended his contract, without a no trade clause. Made an effort to make a deep run this year, and if we don't make progress, trade him for picks to rebuild.

However, that requires a conversation to take place.

Exactly................Its almost like its personal between Jerry and Dak now and there is bad blood over how the last negotiation went, so now Jerry is going to "teach Dak a lesson" and gut the team around him.

I dont know, something weird just seems to be going on.

That is not really going to hurt Dak. He will just move on next year and pick whatever team he wants.

Old wise GM Jeruh will get a late 3rd round comp pick at best.

I guess Romo will remain the all time leading passer in yards, TD's for the Cowboys.

This organization is so pathetic. Like 3 straight 12-5 seasons. And you still won’t go all out… lol

I think there's bad blood over how Dak played in the playoffs and now Dak and his agent seem content to not approach Jones and bend the knee for a home town discount contract to apologize for it. Now Jerry has decided to deviate from all in to stripping the team down and seeing if Dak can actually raise his game to carry an average roster like Mahomes does before he pays him more than Mahomes. I mean, we all know the answer but this will be kind of funny to watch.

How many made it past the Divisional round in those 10 years?
Again....if you're satisfied just make it past the Divisional round, you got a point. To me....it's SB. You can't remember the top 4 teams in the playoffs 5, 6, 7 or even 8 years ago without looking it up.

Rich is right. To Rich Eisen and to many of us..All In was simply put "All In" is To "Dismantle This Team".

With That Said, My Cut Felling and To Many Of Us,Dak is not going to get a Contract Ext and is for Dak,
MM and others to play out the upcoming season for there next contract..

It's obvious what were seeing today and with The Cowboys FA Strategy forthcomings, that were going to be relying
on Draft Heavy for the next couple of Years..

I see us Last in our Div in 2024 and Beyond..

As a Cowboy Fan Im No Longer "DCFL"..More Like "DCLTD" Dallas Cowboys Left To Die..

Are We "All In" With My Easement?

Like To Know Your Thoughts?
Don’t give this front office credit. When they said all in they meant it. They lied to you. Why? Because they can. If this team was dismantling you would know. They would tell you. But a 80 year old man is not rebuilding lol.

Of course not, but you gotta make it to the parking lot if you want to go to the dance. Dak takes the wrong road and ends up somewhere in a cornfield.
Until you start looking at this football as a whole and not just DAK....you're going to miss out. Dak is NEVER going to win this team a SB by himself. It's going to take the whole team together. Everyone has a role.

Mahomes defense was not average lol. How do you guys determine if a roster is average? Based on who the media hypes up? They tell you Micah is the next LT and y’all eat it up lol.

Dallas has a large sample size to go off of. This is a 2 decade trend.

Doing the Dak dance going on 8 years now and it’s the same show.

Change isn’t bad. Wasting time is.

When you’re bad in the NFL you get the reward of premium draft picks.

Elite QBs on rookie deals is the best recipe for a superbowl.
Ok....how many elite QBs has come in the last 10 years? A QB alone is not going to win a SB. I don't care how elite you might think he is. Many on here think Aikman was elite. Many think that because he won SBs. Well, Aikman sucked until they surrounded him with a very good defense, the best o-line if football at the time. Arguably the best RB in football at the time.

Another thing.....go back and look at history, there really aren't that many QBs that won SBs early in their career. Look at Peyton Manning. Look at Drew Brees. Look how great Dan Marino was...never won. Truth be told, Mahones wasn't that good last year. But they had a good defense as well. Good coaching. We have a top 7 QB in the league. You build around him. We had a good team last year. But they failed in the playoffs. Defense failed miserably. Dak didn't play well as before. Coaching was definitely bad.

You can be bad and get a top draft pick. But that doesn't guarantee you an elite QB. There's a better chance that the team will be set back 5 or 6 years before we even become relevant. I'm not for starting over. I'm for building an elite team while we have very good players and key positions....and yes that includes QB.
