its just reality. He isnt going to make it thru the season.
Not reality. One of the things that bug me is when people insist something that is possible,is a fact. Even if the odds are less than 50% that Romo will complete the season, that's not a fact. Fine if you want to call it a valid concern or even probable. But seeing things in black and white is just not paying attention to the shades of grey. It's a shallow view.
Teams just saw this week that he isnt going to be able to take the hits. You gotta be crazy to think teams are going to come after him.
You gotta be crazy to think that other teams wouldn't be going after him anyway, just like hey have his entire career. This changes nothing. I'm sure we all felt the same "oh no not again" felling when Romo was down, but it's not a lingering issue. Also the growth on his collarbone that made it more susceptible has been removed, so that's not an issue anymore.
I know releasing him right now isnt realistic. But the change is in Dallas. Wether they wait or not he's there. But me i would rather see Dak.
What you've seen is a very promising rookie against defenses that are not game planning for him or playing to win the game (They are playing to test their own players in certain situations). You can throw him in now and burn him out, then end up with another RG3, Alex Smith or Kapernick, or you can do what we are lucky enough to have the opportunity to do. Let him sit, let him learn, and let him develop into what could be a true elite QB.
Keep Romo hell they paid him
Salary cap. Dead money. Fottball isa business. You pay a guy what he deserves, then you play him. This might me a little mean, and if so I apologize, but you sound like a guy who's dog is sick and just decide to put him to sleep and buy a puppy. Rather than care for you dog.
...but its a good thing that they have the future behind him.
Right. It's great. He looks likethe future, but ya don't need to sit an elite QB just to play with a shiny new toy. Patience and Dak will be even better.
Me i just dont see much of a drop off in play from Dak to Romo. I know its preseason but this kid just has that thing that just makes you feel that everything is going to be ok.
This just tells me that you simply don't have a real grasp of what preseason football is. It's far more different than you think if you believe that you can actually make a comparison after this amount of time.
This kid already has the trust of the vets and thats amazing considering he barely started getting 1 snas on romos days off and after Moore went down.
The overall mental side to Dak's game has been very impressive. His poise and other intangibles are very encouraging, but with such a tiny sample size against teams that are not playing against him is simply an inaccurate gauge. The camaraderie with the vets is also a great sign and I feel that he should now be the back-up. Moore's injury was a blessing that let us see that. I don't think we need to go out a find a vet anymore and that's a big deal.
But jumping the gun with a knee jerk reaction based on a few glorified scrimmages is not taking the whole picture into account. Let Dak be our future in 2018, not 2016.
