If you really think we will go undefeated with Matt Cassell...that means you really believe in Cassell. But I doubt the staff feels the way you do about him....else, he would have played before now.

The staff has already proven their collective inability to strategize. Exhibit A: CMike's one carry per game bs.

Garrett didnt name CMike the starter or lead back....yet.

I'm more confident now than ever that it will "naturally" happen. The fans are tired of seeing the Scatback By Committee. Jerry is tired of seeing it. That pretty much sums up "inevitable change".

At the end of the day it's the same coaches, Dez and Romo are still hurt, defense is still gelling and we still haven't put together 4 solid quarters. My hope isn't dead but my optimism or confidence surely is.

It's going to be alright my friend. Things are definitely looking up.

I think we match up much better against these teams then the last 3 teams we played.

Giants - The revamped D against Eli.. Shane Vareen has been carrying them the last few weeks, they are slightly banged up and they will have physical game against the Eagles the week before

Seahawks - Their D is very solid still but Russell Wilson is going to get hurt before the end of the year with the way their oline is playing and the way Wilson holds the ball. This is like a 60 minute scramble drill, with some rub plays thrown in. This can be a 16-13 type of game.

Eagles - I think this one will be close as well, but their coverage schemes are very simple and Bradford won't be able to take the heat for 60 minutes.

Bucs - This is a must win if the team is a real contender

Dolphins - Hopefully the team has given up completely by this point and doesn't find it's defense - again no big match up issues and no premier QB

I think they can go 3-2 in this stretch, maybe even 4-1. I suspect the Eagles and Seahawks to give us the most problems with their big play potential and solid run defensive front 7.

I just don't see us losing a game if we play the way we are capable of playing against the Giants and take that one. 5-0 might seem delusional but they are all winnable if we launch correctly after the bye.

Ball control
Ball control
Ball control
Clock mastery
Play action
Mental obliteration of opposing defenses

Hopefully, it's the old situation where Marion Barber got all the carries even though he didn't start for awhile.

That would be nice if they just stick with him. On his lone 6 yard run he did showcase some wiggle.

I'm finally starting to emerge from my tempered shell. I ask that you emerge with me sir..lol

Im scared. A big Crissy Crunch Fumble in the red zone or a Pick 6 Pickle by Cassel to end the game against the GMEN and it would crush my fragile emergence.

My excitement and confidence in sustaining through this tough stretch is at an all time high this morning!

We're looking at Cassell as our field general, CMike as the lead dog with Randle back where he belongs as a 3rd down change of pace, and most importantly Collins in there at LG! Wow! We may actually get back to the formula that made us successful last year. Eat clock. Run the ball. Eat clock. Run the ball. Pass for a 1st down. Boom boom boom. Demoralize.

CMike and Randle will probably get equal carries but that formula alone will drastically improve our running game. La'el's insertion and CMike's final chance will prove more important than having Cassell on the field. Cassell will just need to drive the bus which he has proven to do very well over the years.

There was one play against the Pats where Leary got bull rushed straight back into Weeden which culminated in a sack. At that point, I made a mental note that La'el needed to take over that spot.

Here we sit at 2-3. Let's forget any woulda coulda shouldas and just focus in the present/future possibilities. Before these changes were announced, I felt within my heart that we could be 4-6 getting Romo back.

Now I feel as though we could be sitting at 7-3 with a continued lock on an ugly division. Remember, we're 2-0 in the NFCE. Here's how the next 5 games may line up with our new prospects on the field.

Giants: W 3-3 (3-0 div)
Seahawks: W 4-3 (3-0 div)
Eagles: W 5-3 (4-0 div)
Bucs: W 6-3 (4-0 div)
Dolphins: W 7-3 (4-0 div)

If you think we lose any of those games following a huge Giants win, I would love to hear your reasoning. I believe we are lined up for a serious run. Major changes. Major injection of confidence AND let's not forget getting Gregory back. Him and Hardy are going to wreak havoc.

I felt this was important enough to make a thread specifically regarding our fan perspectives before and after this week's announcements hit the air waves. Things are looking up folks!

Your avatar is way too distracting!!

LOL
I honestly don't think our defense is going to let it remain that close down the stretch. Hardy and Gregory particularly are going to eat Eli's lunch.

The NYG game is a tremendous opportunity to kind of wrestle back control of the division and let the league know the team is not in free-fall. It is a winnable game but the team will have to play well and make some big plays to pull it out.

Until i see how they play at NY with Cassell, i cant really predict anything beyond that game. But i do expect the team to play better assuming Cassel is an upgrade and as injured guys return to the lineup.

Also, i expect Romo to return for the Miami game.

I've never given up and have been optimistic all year. A lot of us have been that way.

I like your optimism and enthusiasm, but I need to see how Cassell plays before having 5-0 expectations for the coming games. I agree that there isn't a game amongst the five that aren't reasonably winnable, but they're only reasonably winnable with much better QB and RB play than we've seen of late. Got my fingers crossed.

This...if he can manufacture the goods versus the Giants, then we can begin to believe that other things are possible. Never has a four game stretch been more significant for the Cowboys [without Romo].

I still think the seahawks game will be a lose. After losing to us in Seattle, they will put much emphasis on this game and I don't see Cassel winning.

It's encouraging. I'm thinking we'll be significantly more competitive with Cassel at the helm than with Weeden. Couple that with a vastly improved pass rush and you're headed for a bonified dogfight in the Meadowlands.

Right now CMike is pounding it out in practice and Randle has finally been able to reconnect with a lead dog type RB. All good.
