MySa Blog: Choice wouldn't mind trade

I don't know if I stated this before (more than 5 times), but I am reserving judgement until I have read what was actually asked and said, because the original article appeared to be a collection of soundbytes that could be mistrued. I am merely mentioning that I don't think any player should be airing their laundry to the media.

Everyone knew Barber wanted to be the starter without him saying a word, yet it was Julius that kept going to the media. Everyone knows that Choice wants to start, it's not the first time he's mentioned it, so I don't see a need to continue voicing it, if that is what he is doing.

If anything, I agree that this could drive up the potential trade value, not that I want to see us part ways with him; if it is of benefit to him and the Cowboys, then I would not want to hold him back.

It appears that it was asked of him because of the trade rumors with SD. Thing now days if you say nothing when asked the media will make an issue of that just as much as a guy saying something.

Of that we will agree.

Can you give me some examples where doing this has improved team chemistry and personal treatment? I'm sure I have couple instances where it has been counter-productive.

No. I didn't make any points about team chemistry.

Choice deserves to be higher than #3 on some team's depth chart. I'd trade #27 and Choice for a chance to move up and draft Earl Thomas (the other team would probably have to throw in an extra 3rd round pick). We could probably draft a RB to fit our system as the #3 guy in either the 3rd or 4th round (we've had good success with this lately).

Then you are pretty much damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Or you learn QB speak. Say nothing at all, but sound like you are answering the question. ;)

People made issues out of many statements from Romo by reading into them what they choose to read into them. When I see players ripping others on the team then I have a big issue wit that Choice did nothing of the sort.

Choice is better than any prospect in the draft and is proven in the NFL, i dont trade him period.

Im trying hard not to come out and say Choice has the ability to be like Emmitt, he doesn't because he is too old, but if Choice started in the NFL at lets say 20, and started from day 1 I believe his ability and durability would allow him to make a run at the all time record (like ladanian did, I dont believe he would've succeeded but people certaintily would've said "hey tashard choice may be able to break it"

rant/ I am very surprised how many people are agreeing with my points in this thread, normally just because I said it people say "makes no sense" and then if someone with more e-rep like Hostile or Cowboyjoe posted it everyone says, "Great idea" or "good point" the only argument I have ever made that was too far fetched for most people to believe is the Irvin is better than Rice one(which I will not get back into) /rant

One more point I want to make in this thread;

Would you guys prefer tashard say nothing? I sure wouldn't

I love knowing that he feels he could step up and start, I love knowing that one of our running backs is so confident in his ability he wants to start. He is hungry, and he wants to earn that paycheck infact he wants to earn more than that paycheck he wants to show everyone he is an elite RB, he wants to get that 7m a year contract he doesnt want $590k a year forever. I like that about him. He is hungry and that is good.

He is our most durable back by leaps and bounds.

He has the ability to do everything you ask a back to do good, not great. (except block tashard is not to great at that!)

Agree 100%.

This stuff is for a conversation with Jerry and Stephen Jones.

Not Tom Orsborn. Or any media outlet.

First you've got to get an audience. I think he may get one now.
