I am just asking, what was McChunky's stats his first year with TO when they were all good vs' Tony's stats his first full year with TO?

To say the McNabb never had a receiver is wrong. Or you could say the same about Romo. What are their stats with TO or without him?
That's what scared me about Romo this year. Every QB that has had TO has had significant drop offs without him.

We'll see if it happens with Tony.

Tony will be fine because his primary target has been, and will continue to be, Witten. I see Witt catching 100 passes this year and Bennet another 40. Williams, Austin, Crayton, will just be fluff.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Felix with more catches than Williams. there are just too many mismatches out there is Garrett plays his hand correctly.

I agree now after watching some of training camp. I actually doubt Witten gets 100 passes because our other targets are that good.

Romo could have a significant dropoff in his statistics (yds, TD's) and Dallas could still have a wildly successful season.

I understand that you know that already theo, but I'm just saying even if his yards and TD's aren't as high as they were with TO, the offense could be one of the better units in the league. An increased running game in conjunction with some shorter passes that keep the chains moving is just what this offense needs, IMO.

Age has nothing to do with it.

Let go of his jock, I'm sure he wants it back by now.
I'm not on his jock. I just don't underrate him like you do. he's been the best qb in this division since he was drafted. Romo is quickly closing the gap but not there yet imo.

mcnabb isn't slightly better

he is occasionally much better and occasionally much worse

I take tony any day of the week.

I agree with this assessment. When McNabb is on, he's as good as there is in the league. I also think he throws a very good deep ball, but he doesn't get the chance to do it very often. Personally, I don't think the West Coast offense has gotten the most out of his talent, but I'd suspect many would disagree. When he isn't playing at his best, he's terrible. Balls thrown at the feet like others have posted. I'd rather have more consistency.

I just think he's too bizarrely inconsistent to be considered near the top of QBs. He has a habit of throwing at the feet of receivers.
If Consistancy is the reason why romo is over mcnabb then you havent watched Romo late in the season or havent payed attention.

mcnabb in my mind is over romo. We will see what romo can do now with no more excuses.

The only thing certain about NFC East QBs is that Jason Campbell is a distant 4th. Romo, McNabb and Manning are all quality players (though my opinion of Manning is significantly lower after this past December/January).

Honestly, based on their entire body of work and given who they played with, McNabb has the most impressive resume. He has been very effective for the majority of his career and has done it without much help for the most part. Outside of his year and a half with TO, he has been throwing passes to the likes of Freddie Mitchell and Hank Baskett. Romo definately has a chance to become the best this year, though.

"Bizarrely inconsistent", well put. It's true. He's a talent that looks unstoppable at times, yet other times he is just awful missing wide open receivers. Having said that, I think he is a very good QB who regularly has his team in contention despite almost a career-long void at WR.

McNabb is one of the biggest chokers in NFL history, but for some reason Romo gets that label, not McNabb.
