MySa Blog: Stop the presses: Roy Williams has a fan in Drew Pearson

Not backpeddaling. I remember the pass to TO at the end of the Giants game where he beat the whole defense and Romo got hit and the ball was underthrown terribly. But i guess thats TOs fault. Those stats mean nothing. I saw the games.

Try the OLine.

Drew also said that he'd trade ANYONE on the Cowboy's roster (other than Hershel Walker) for Tony Mandrich after Dallas had chosen Aikman instead. I love Drew, but I'm taking his opinion of talent observation with a grain of salt.

Drew wasn't alone in that opinion by any stretch.

To me it does not matter what Drew thinks or Troy, Irvin, Deion or anyone else with an opinion on RW. All that matter is RW going out and doing his job. He will have this off season to work with the offense and more importantly Romo and I expect RW to go out and perform and willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. As a fan I believe in giving guys a fair shake the critics don't have to but I will give him that much at the very least

I think it's diffiuclt to let a player of Owen's talent level go. But if you really look at him over the course of last season, he wasn't nearly as dominant as he had once been. Granted he played part of the year with Johnson/Bollinger at QB, but even without them, he was getting jammed at the line very often.

And I agree, I can't exactly recall which game it was, but Owens was targeted quite a few times, and he produced very little that game. I think Romo started by distributing passes all over the field, but the more he played, the more he began to look for Owens.

People are really hung up on how unproven our WRs are, but they continue to forget that we have a guy whos good for at least 70 catches a year in Witten. Bennett proved to be a good contributer too.

Overall I feel we are a more balanced offense without Owens. Hopefully we get to being a power running, ball controll offense. It would benefit us immensely.
