I would like for Adam to demonstrate tonight that he is becoming more comfortable in zone coverage.....He's great in man to man.
Me too. I personally don't like the way we play our corners. I would rather see two man to man corners with maybe one safety to help.

I like TNew more as well, however pacman can make some big big plays that i'm not sure newman can

funny how perception gets in the way of reality. In 5 seasons Newman has 16 picks, 76 passes defensed, 1 pick for a TD and 1 return for a TD...he's also been credited with 4 forced fumbles and 2 sacks

In two seasons of play Adam Jones has 4 ints (after zero his first season) and 1 for a TD, been credited for 23 passes defensed 1 forced fumble and 1 sack...now Jones has had tremendous success returning punts with 4 punt returns for tds but he has alot more opportunities to return as well

so not sure where you get the idea that Jones would make big plays defensively that Newman cant or doesnt make

Its the way he is with the ball in his hands. We have scene in the past that Newman has a hard time catching the ball. It seems just like an intangible that pac seems to have. Call it what you want, its just how I perceive it lol.

So you agree that we should play zone, but then say you'd rather see two "man to man" corners? Somebody help me! I'm confused.

BTW, we tried some man to man against the Broncos and they owned us. Man-to-man coverage is for high school. In the pros, it's too easy for the receivers and especially easy for the QB when you don't disguise coverage.

I'm not a fan of primarily playing zone. I would rather invest in corners and put them on an island. Bring the blitz shut down the run. Make those WR beat the corners you have invested in in a couple of seconds.

Nah, I like coverages that cut off lanes, coverages that gives QBs headaches. You can play zones and still be aggressive. I mean, a Cover 2 is a zone, so you can play a little press coverage with safety help over the top.

In this day and age, with the penalties they call on defensive backs, it's far too easy to beat straight man coverage. Unless you liked what you saw last Saturday night.

There are different ways of playing. I have always thought that any coverage can be beaten. It is very different for a blitz.

You know you have awesome depth when your first round draft pick is counted as your 4th CB.

..the reverse also is on our team where your 1st Rd lber is your 4th deep Lber in a Carp..because he can't play.
