Okay, I actually posted up this thread on ES and it didn't turn into a joke or a flame war. So, give me 3 players you're excited about for 2006 and why. Here's mine:
Marcus Spears
Was compared to Richard Seymour and Kevin Williams out of college given his size, stats, and 40 time. That stopped once he ran a 40 time in the 5.1 range. But, that was due to him hurting his knee midway through his senior year and gaining some weight. Last year he shed the weight before training camp and then got injured in the first week. That slowed his progress through the first 8 games, but he came on strong in the second half of the season. If he can stay healthy, I think he'll be a big force.
Jason Hatcher
6'6" 290 pounds and ran a 4.82 forty at the combine and just ran a 4.7 time at the mini-camp. Grambling played Washington State last year and the WSU coach said he was the "greatest college D-Lineman I've ever seen." A lot of teams reportedly wanted to trade up to the third round to get him and the Patriots wanted him pretty bad as well. Getting rave reviews so far by every Dallas media member, which is actually rare.
Anthony Fasano
Just because I can't recall a team having two TE's with the blocking and receiving capabilities that Fasano and Witten have and using the 2 TE "Ace Tight" formation as their base set. I'd like to say that they may be doing something revolutionary in the world of football, but for now I'll just say it's unique and should be at the very least interesting to watch.
Honorable Mention:
Mike Vanderjagt
Even if he has an off year, it will still be worlds better than what they had last year.
