KC has a history of paying that Off ILB because they understand how valuable it is to their scheme. If you look at how they paid Johnson, his entire career, it makes much more sense as to why they paid Hitchens what they did. I mean it doesn't really matter, what's done is done. They clearly valued Hitchens and were willing to pay him.

I bet you're a hoot at parties.
The original talk was Hitchens rank in pay amongst LBs. Someone points out he's an ILB. You argue that point, then admit he's replacing Johnson at ILB... smh.
And you ignored my joke. Do they not have a sense of humor in the New Mexico?... lol

Let's just say we could match any offer that has been made so far in free agency, which deal would you have matched???
It's really a simple and legit, common sense question.

And even if you do match the offer that was accepted by another team, it does not remotely quarantee that the player would come to Dallas or the other team would make the trade.

Just a few notes
All draft picks by round aren't the same obviously; I mean, the 33rd and 60th picks are not close in value but both are "2nd round picks"

Certain players--peppers in Carolina, for example--would take far less to stay at home than move elsewhere

The Bills signing QB AJ McCarron was probably the best I have seen this year in FA when factoring in upside, money, and talent. Having said that, the McCarron deal would not have made sense for the Cowboys. So I don't see a deal done which I would have matched.

We have to wait and see what Suh signs for.

I don't know, I guess you would have to ask all my friends about that.

I didn't admit anything. Do you even read the posts? I'm thinking the answer to this is no. I said, I don't know that Hitchens is going to be the Jack. I haven't heard or seen anything from KC that confirms this. However, it's reasonable to assume this. It's not a certainty but I think it's reasonable. What exactly is your point here?

If the poster was trying to say that it matters because he is an Inside LB, then I'm telling you that his position gets paid. Plain and simple, the metrics based on inside vs outside doesn't work, in all cases. Just like, in a Tampa 2, your MLB is more valuable and gets paid better then other MLBs in other schemes.

You are reading what you want to read into it. You are not really considering the facts. KC pays that position because it's valuable. Inside or Outside LB has nothing to do with anything in this situation. It's how you value a players skills and what they are worth to you, as a team.

As for jokes, I will tell you this. In the appropriate venue, I can laugh right along with the rest but in this forum, there are rules and one of them says that this is a family forum. Your joke, is boarderline. My suggestion would be to read up on the rules and just try and stay clear of things that might not be viewed as family friendly. This will probably not be the answer you are looking for but it's good advice. I would also recommend you consider using some kind of emoji when posting something that is supposed to be a joke. Dry humor gets lost on a message board.

Man, you're really wound up about this stuff. I read everything in this thread.
I saw where you said Hitchens was 18th overall paid LB. Common sense, I humbly suggest, should've helped you not to throw 3-4 OLBs, 4-3 OLB and ILBs all in one "basket".
I merely pointed that out for you, and you're welcome.
Enjoy your day.

FA- John Brown AZ although his size is a concern considering we got bease n switz

Hands down the move I am very jealous of is the Marcus Peters trade, say what u want about his lack of self control at times ala dez but he has zero off field issues is passionate about football and winning.

This guy is the best ive seen since deon at baiting and jumping routes and other than Ramsey is the best Defensive playmaker at cb Ive seen in a while and its not even close imo. Wouldve love to see this guy torture Wince and screw his head all up and turn him into Geoff George, yeah!

Turns out it was a staggering deal. I'm embarrassed.

At least we're avoiding mistakes though.
