63 is his avg spot taken.
Late 2nd/early 3rd.

Interesting tidbit on the 6'3". Below are 3 links saying otherwise and 1 of them is his LSU fansite player page. Where did you get those size details? Would love to be wrong because I like his character, that he's a solid player and comes from a strong program. Below are the links.

6'1", 225 lbs - Too small for my liking.

6' 0 1/4", 242 lbs - Can live with this weight to height ratio. 2 more inches in height at almost 250 would be ideal.

6'1, 232 lbs

I was responding to someone asking where he would be drafted. Most sites have him ranked around the 63rd pick. So a late 2nd/early 3rd round pick. Not 6 foot 3. Sorry for the confusion.

I think we are targeting WR Nicks but too much luck/work required to get in position. My choice is:

Louis Vasquez OG Texas Tech

Raw, strong second day lineman that just feels like a fit

That's my pick, too. I think they'll go after several offensive linemen later in the draft and this is a big, strong guy that Houck would probably like.

This was easier when Parcells was around. Just look for a guy whose dad was a coach, preferrably from New Jersey, either a linebacker or tight end, and quite possibly Italian.

How can we draft Bomar? That will mean that we have to keep 3 QBs, and I doubt with all of the talent that that is going to happen.

Derry Beckwith is 6'1" 232 lbs. I know you can put some size on once you get to the NFL but he's still too small to be a 3 down LB in the 3-4. I don't think we're going after him with our first 2 picks but if he's around like Bradie James was in the 4th you'reonto something.

What round is Beckwith projected for anyways? I think we're setting up for Clint Sintim who's stock is increasing. I think it's LB or a corner we're going for with our first pick.
I hope you're correct.

Adding an undersized LB who will likely never be much more than a nickel cover guy and STer strikes me as more of the stupid drafting that Jones did in the 90s when he thought he didn't need to try to draft starters.

With Bey's workout do you think he will make it into the 2nd round?

Honestly I havent kept up with the Combine and Pro Days much this year.

I know a few guys measurables but I don't really know his.

Im sure he dropped a blazing speed.

The guy has the perfect tools to be a bigtime player. Someone just needs to coach him and bring it all out.

Hopefully receivers will drop this year like they did last year.

:laugh2: That is so Parcell's I'm Italian saying it. Maybe that's why I liked Parcy too, he gets along well with us hard heads.

What is with all the love for Dary Beckwith? He is mediocre at best.

You guys are Cowboy fans so you're obviously some of the smartest people in the world. How can you all be so dumb on this one player? :banghead:

In case anyone is wondering, I do not like Beckwith at all. That pretty much guarantees we will be drafting him. I watched the combine a few years back and all I kept thinking was "How stiff Anthony Spencer looks. Why do they keep talking about him? " and of course, we draft him. Same thing a few years back with Julius Jones and before that, David LaFleuer. Couldn't stand them in college.

Back to the intent of this thread, I think Sammie Lee Hill will end up a Cowboy.

A slot wr/pr.

How about a fast wr/pr. We have a slot guy. We need a speed guy.

But he has to be a football player. I have no interest in some track guy who couldn't ketch a cold in a day care center.

Joe Burnett. Good nickle back, excellent kick-off/Punt returner.

...that you feel the Cowboys will definitely add in 2009. Not someone you want real bad. A player that you think is "destined" to be drafted by the Cowboys. The player you would bet 10 bucks will be drafted by the Cowboys.

I think there are two candidates I would consider heavily...Derry Beckwith, ILB, LSU and Rhett Bomar, QB, Sam Houston State.

I'll go with Beckwith.

THUMPER! Oh wait, I forgot to declare for the draft. Dang old age! :bang2:

Definitely not big on Beckwith. I think he's a shrimp. Coming out of college there was nothing stiff about Julius Jones, nothing. Spencer, IF he can stay healthy, will be a player. LaFleur was a stiff in college and the pro's.

It's not about our love like the OP asked. I have just heard that Dallas seems to have taken a liking to Beckwith. He's also not as bad as you are saying.

I want to hear Theogt's answer. He had so much love for one guy last year and we snagged him...

Who was that guy?
