Okay, nobody got it, so I'll provide the full lyrics. I think the artist should be easy enough to guess.

Mother, mother ocean, I have heard you call
Wanted to sail upon your waters
Since I was three feet tall
You've seen it all, you've seen it all

Watch the men who rode you
Switch from sails to steam
And in your belly you hold the treasure
That few have ever seen, most of them dreams
Most of them dreams

Yes, I am a pirate two hundred years too late
The cannons don't thunder there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

I've done a bit of smugglin'
I've run my share of grass
I made enough money to buy Miami
But I pissed it away so fast
Never meant to last, never meant to last

I have been drunk now for over two weeks
I passed out and I rallied and I sprung a few leaks
But I've got to stop wishin'
Got to go fishin', I'm down to rock bottom again
Just a few friends, just a few friends

I go for women, lived with several awhile
And though I ran away, they'll come back one day
And still could manage a smile
It just takes awhile, just takes awhile

Mother, mother ocean, after all these years I've found
My occupational hazard being my occupation's just not around
I feel like I've drowned
Gonna head uptown
Still no idea, but I'd guess Buffet.

There's a storm across the valley
Clouds are rollin' in
The afternoon is heavy on your shoulder

There's a truck out on the four lane
A mile or more away
The whining of his wheels just makes it colder

Nice! Didn't expect that one to go so soon!

Sometimes I see it immediately, and sometimes it just doesn't pop out even if it's something I know. I think it's a little easier with a song like this in which the cadence of the singing is very much the same as when someone reads the words.

Well, it's cold over here,
And I swear,
I wish they'd turn the heat on.
And where in the world
Is that English girl
I promised I would meet on
The third floor?

And I'll substantiate the rumor
That the English sense of humor
Is drier than the Texas sand.
You can put up your dukes
but you can bet your boots
That I'll be leavin just as fast as I can.

I'll wait to give others a chance since I've answered a few recently, but if nobody answers I've got this.

This is a favorite group-sing bar song (need to have a few LSLN's first)

Here's another one, better-known:
"He drives a '57 GMC pickup truck.
Got a gun rack
And 'A Goat Roper Needs Love, Too' sticker."

Yep, along with You Never Even Called me by my Name. I'm wondering how many will pick up on the LSLN.

Here's a hard one

"Well I probably should have listened
Guess I should be on my way
By this time tomorrow, you won't ever see my face

Through the good times and the slow ones

You can never get rid of me
I spend most nights living in misery

So take it easy, where you are
I know the moonlight will bring a shining star
Hold your breath now, don't waste your time
We'll see each other in another time

After 3 shots of whiskey
is when I'll miss you the most
I spend most nights staring down at a cracked screen phone
Hoping it will light up, like you did my whole life
I spend most nights at home all alone

So take it easy wherever you are
I know the moonlight will bring a shining star
Hold your breath now, don't waste your time
We'll see each other in another time"

The artist is correct.

The title is “London Homesick Blues”

“I wanna go home with armadillo,
Good country music from Amarillo & Abilene,
The friendliest people and the prettiest women
You’ve ever seen.”

Ok.

It’s “Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother” (JJW)

.....he’s 34 and drinking in a honky tonk,
Just kickin’ hippies’ ***** and raisin hell.
