An interesting tidbit is Janis was from Jimmy Johnson’s hometown, and they were about the same age. I assume they didn’t hang with the same crowd, but they may well have known each other.

Slower paced than you may think of with Steppenwolf. Kind of a lament about a friend who gets very deep in drugs, and how low his life gets. A good song.

Janis was a year ahead of Jimmy at Port Arthur High, but they actually had a history class together, and Jimmy used to mess with her a lot since she was different and he was a jock.
