You have to release someone for the day that Tank is signed. Then he gets placed on the suspended list so you can bring another player in. When he is eligible to play you need the roster spot again.

Per the article from the DMN, the Cowboys need to cut a player for one day to sign Tank. So, Nate Jones will most likely be resigned. It is risky though. Since another team could sign him off waivers. With the Cowboys woes at cornerback, it might be a good move for a division opponent to claim him. It also doesn't say much for Nate Jones, if the Cowboys are willing to take this kind of chance with him.

I like the Tank signing, but I do not like cutting Nate Jones.

This makes no sense at all, none. If he gets picked up off waivers I will be pissed.

We have enough problems in the secondary without losing our 4th corner, 3rd when Newman is not playing. I dont get this.

It definitely WILL hurt our depth at that position (which wasn't very good to begin with).
