lol yea :laugh1:

i hope he comes back..

i have a real good feeling about this game..i think the defense is going to surprise

I was actually surprised Nate Jones made the roster to begin with so I'm not surprised with his release.

Maybe they thought Nate was the least likely to be claimed by another team. Lets hope he clears, but who else could we have released that would have been less likely to be signed by another team?

Weird. I expected Berger or Brown would be the low man on the totem pole.

Brown is a developmental guy -- Berger. Well, we don't have many interior linemen

I guess this means that Newman is healthy -- or we like Ogelsby and aren't going to be playing any dime.

Haven't seen it mentioned, but if Nate clears waivers and we re-sign him to a vet minumum contract, I'm pretty sure we'd be saving some money, too.

Jones will be re-signed.

Don't understand why we released him in the first place. Don't we have like 5 safeties? We should of released Brown.

Why resign him? We'd have to release someone to resign him anyway, might as well of just released that other person in the first place.

We won't have to release anyone else if we bring him back until Tank is eligible to play.

Then why did we release him in the first place?

You have to release someone for the day that Tank is signed. Then he gets placed on the suspended list so you can bring another player in. When he is eligible to play you need the roster spot again.

Really? I did not know that. Learn something new every day.

In that case, I hope they are able to resign him.

Per the article from the DMN, the Cowboys need to cut a player for one day to sign Tank. So, Nate Jones will most likely be resigned. It is risky though. Since another team could sign him off waivers. With the Cowboys woes at cornerback, it might be a good move for a division opponent to claim him. It also doesn't say much for Nate Jones, if the Cowboys are willing to take this kind of chance with him.

yeah, but they (probably) have to waive somebody to claim him

I like the Tank signing, but I do not like cutting Nate Jones.

This makes no sense at all, none. If he gets picked up off waivers I will be pissed.

We have enough problems in the secondary without losing our 4th corner, 3rd when Newman is not playing. I dont get this.

he wasnt a difference maker...he wasnt even average in coverage

other than one CB blitz, he did absolutely nothing to distinguish himself here during TC, preseason or the first two games

it definitely isnt going to hurt the team if he isnt in the picture

It definitely WILL hurt our depth at that position (which wasn't very good to begin with).

I don't know why they did this.

I thought Jones was playing ok.

Odds are...he's gonna be wearing another uniform soon.

yeah we know...in your bizarro world, Jones would probably start ahead of Henry

no it wont, because he wasnt that good

he was a frange player...fringe players come and go

and if Newman is ready to play, Jones might not have been active anymore anyway

David

Nate Jones DOES NOT have to clear waivers which is why he was released.

I have a feeling he may get picked up by the Jets. They just placed Justin Miller (cornerback) on IR.
