Pass deflections, 2 yrd pass plays, not getting beat...that's whats important. INTs are just icing.

LOL at this comment. I hope you other Cowboy fans dont think like this.

INT's are extremely important...They change the game, they give your offense the ball.

pass deflections are great but they do not change the game. Look at the Missed INt the pats had against the Giants? Yea they lost the SB.

Not getting beat is #1...INt's is #2

pass deflections are what the losers that cannot catch like to use as an excuse. Sorry Newman YOu cannot catch and that is a flaw you need to work on..

Henry on the other hand..When healthy is a great all around corner.

So, are you saying that when healthy Henry is a better corner than Newman?

He's a better playmaker, when healthy, in my opinion.

The problem is that Newman being all over his man is what allows Henry to make plays in the first place. If Newman can't cover as well as he can, the ball never makes it to Henry's side of the field.

I'm not going to be particularly worried about this after a whole 2 days of practice in shorts and helmets.

So 2 pass deflections and only giving up a 3 yard pass doesn't lead to a punt which leads to giving us the ball back? Come on man. INT's don't happen on every play. Deion didn't get an int on every play, he had alot of breakups and the lame stuff I mentioned. So I'm assuming you'd rather a CB give up a 50yd TD and then on the next drive get an int rather than 4 deflections that lead to 2 punts.

And they both did that in big football conferences.

By the way, I'm a huge fan of Wheatley, damn Patriots. The rich get richer.

I'm the same way. I think they just found another shut down CB in the 2nd round, just like Asante.

Never understood why Wheatley wasn't considered a Tier 1 CB. Great ball skills. 14 career picks. Runs a 4.3. Played against top competition (the only guy who really neutralized Michael Crabtree). Jumps through the roof. So why does he fall to the end of Round 2? A few minor injuries in college like a broken bone in his foot or a broken wrist. Wouldn't you prefer a guy who gets nicked up a couple of times who can actually play football as opposed to a guy who's healthy all the time and can't cover?

guys nate newton former all pro offensive guard for the cowboys was just on www.ktbb.com the david smoak show, (the show is on channel 6 on cable from 4-7 pm or channel 18 on direct tv, will be lots of cowboys on davids show) you can listen to the podcast at the site, just click on dallas cowboys blog on his site,

anyway, nate says this guy david amondola is really doing nice things and running around beating corners etc, but our top cornerback jenkins cant seem to catch any balls.

If anybody else besides Nate had said that about Jenkins I'd be concerned.
That he can't catch balls this early (while he is learning) does not trouble me.

Did you miss the part where I said Not getting beat was #1?....

All I'm saying is that Int's are not iceing on the cake..They are important, and if you are in position to make the play You make the damn play...Pass delfection on a play that can be INt is a poor excuse for not being able to catch. Ask newman He's the perfect example.
